(Blake's POV)

I'm standing on the second story deck of my house, in front of the door that leads to my dad's office. I just stared at the door, debating with myself if I should go inside. It is getting late.

Kali: You know, you can always go in and say hi.

I got startled by my mom's sudden voice. I looked over and she's holding a tray with a tea set on it.

Blake: I don't wanna bother him.

Kali: A father's never too busy for his daughter.

Blake: Not all of my friends would agree with you on that.

Mom kissed my cheek and handed me the tray.

Kali: Here.

My mom turned around and started to walk away.

Blake: What? Where are you going?

Kali: You've never been very talkative, but (Y/N) sure has some interesting story's about him and you're team.

My mom turned a corner, disappearing from my line of sight.

Ghira: Kali? Is that you, dear?

I opened the door and walked into my dad's office.

Blake: Uh, hey dad.

I saw him sitting at his desk. He looked over at me.

Ghira: Blake! Well, this is a pleasant surprise.

Blake: I...

My dad stood up from his desk.

Ghira: Please, come sit.

We both moved to the large table and couch. My dad sat down and I put the tray on the table. I was about to start to prepare the tea, but dad stopped me.

Ghira: Don't worry, I've got it. Sit down, sit down.

Blake: I don't wanna keep you if you're-

Dad started to pour some cups of tea.

Ghira: Nonsense, I've been cooped up in here all day.

I sat down next to dad. He put a sugar cube in the cup of tea nearest to me.

Ghira: You still take sugar, right?

Blake: Oh, actually, uh-

Ghira: Oh! Sorry!

Blake: No, no no no, it's fine.

I tried to pick up the cup of tea.

Ghira: Here, take this one.

He tried to hand me his tea cup. I just picked up mine.

Blake: No, really. It's no big deal.

Ghira: You sure?

Blake: Positive.

I took a sip of my tea, but I winced with pain from the tea being too hot.

Ghira: Might wanna let it cool.

Blake: Right.

I set my cup down on the table.

Ghira: So... is it... warm... in Vale?

Blake: Huh?

Ghira: It just... seems like your outfit doesn't cover very much.

I looked at my outfit and I crossed my arms.

Blake: It covers plenty.

Ghira: I mean, a little more armor might help. Don't you think?

Blake: I'm fine. I don't need armor. I can look after myself.
