"are you sure you want to do this?" ashton asked. two weeks since i've made my decision, and i'm really hoping it was a good one because the voices said no.
we walked up to the large white building, calum having work and not being able to go so ashton offered.
we walked up to the front desk, waiting for the lady who was frantically typing on her computer to acknowledge our existence. five minutes went by and ashton cleared his throat.
you'll regret this, lucas
i swallowed the lump that had formed in my throat and waited.
"can i help you?"
"yes, we- well luke is here for an appointment with doctor hace?" ashton said, leaning forward on the desk as the lady pushed her glasses up and started typing again.
'last name?"
"hemmings."
"down the hall eleventh door to your left."

"you must be luke, right?" a man asked as i slowly closed the door behind me. his room was covered in plants, not a single place uncovered by a flower.
"yes, doctor ha-?"
"you can call me tom, now, luke, ashton here told me you were hearing voices?" he asked curiously.
no you're not you little-
"yes." i told him, he nodded. the clipboard that they usually have wasn't in his hands. all he did was listen.
"what do they tell you?"
luke-
"what to do."
he nodded in understanding. how was this supposed to help? i mean all he did was talk.
and that's exactly what we did for the rest of the hour. i didn't exactly open up to him, he just asked what they said and i continued to ignore them as i spoke.
by the time i got home i was incredibly light headed. i texted calum and ashton telling them it went well and they said they were proud of me. if only the voices were proud of me too.
you think that's okay? from everything we've helped you with? you go behind our backs like Michael did. do you want to be that person luke?
n-no
then stop going to him, he's driving you insane. why don't you stay up all night hmm? let all your thoughts roam

i sat on my countertop kicking my legs out back and forth. it was around four in the morning and i couldn't sleep, too many thoughts. the only light that sept through was the moon's, but just barely because of the nine foot fücking fence my neighbor had.
who the hell was this guy? or girl.
i could always go over and ask but i quickly remembered what the man had said to me.
"-comes outside, don't leave your house."
i hopped off the countertop deciding to finally go to sleep but once i put my head down on the pillow my thoughts went crazy about the thing next door.
who were they?
why is the fence there?
why do i care?
i gave in, getting up off the air mattress and pulling on a hoodie. i quickly put my phone in my back pocket and headed out the front door, only to stop once i saw someone walking down the street.
at first i was going to just go back inside but they stopped and turned to look at me. my breath hitched as i started walking down my front steps knowing i probably just looked stupid.
but looking stupid would have been a greater idea then having them walk towards you. when they came up to me i felt the urge to just run back inside.
"h-hi." i squeaked, obviously being nervous because who the fuck was this person? they didn't say anything back, but instead pulled out a phone, and started typing on it. they were only about a few inches away from me so when they turned the phone on i froze.
the small glow illuminating their face only for a second had my stomach in knots. he, had what seemed like dark blue hair. his nose scrunched up as he typed making him look like a kitten. he handed me his phone a few seconds later and i hesitantly took it before looking down at the bright screen.
hi
i shakily typed "hi" back and handed him the phone quickly wanting to get a better look at him this time. he had an eyebrow peircing and wore a baseball tee with red sleeves, along with-
i snapped myself out of my thoughts and looked down at the bright screen that was back in my hands already.
isn't it a bit late?
shouldn't you be telling yourself that?
he chuckled a little and i almost fell to the floor. god he's cute. he started typing again and i waited for him to hand me the phone. it was december so i was already feeling my hands go numb from being out in the cold for so long. he handed me the phone and i cursed when i almost dropped it making him chuckle again.
i should be going then, it was nice meeting you
before i could reply he took his phone from my hands with a slight smile and started walking away.
stay away from him, he made us go away. you don't want that now do you luke?
no
i went back inside, ignoring the direction the blue haired boy went in and finally decides on sleeping. all my thoughts had calmed down for some reason.
he did look strangely like the guy from the store who looked like michael and well-
every time i was around this guy, everything inside me stopped.
which strangely, was how i felt when i was with michael.

i hate my life so much right now
