“so will you at least think about it, luke?” calum asked.

i sat on my couch, my face buried into the cushion with my legs sprawled out taking up all the room. calum sat on the floor across from me, ashton had things to do today so he couldn’t come.

i never liked the elf anyways

“why should i? i’m not crazy.” i said turning around to face calum, who had a pleading expressing on his face.

“luke i know you don’t want to believe it but trust me this guy cleared ashton up-“

“why did ashton hear voices?”

calum sighed. “don’t tell him i told you this okay?” i nodded and he continued. “four years ago he was driving his parents back to our place, a-and it was raining really hard and you c-could barely see anything. they were at a stop light and a drunk driver hit them that night. his parents died instantly and over time he started hearing these voices telling him it was all his fault.

he cried for two weeks straight until i called in a therapist, who at first ashton hated but around a year later he finally opened up to him.” calum said.

oh well, it was probably his fault anyways

“luke we just want you to get better okay?”

you’re fine luke, now make him leave

“i’ll think about it.” i said quietly, it was barely above a whisper but calum jumped as soon as i said it.

“really? you will?” his excitement pouring out of his mouth. i nodded and he pulled me into a hug, saying “thank you” over and over again before i quickly pulled away.

no you will not lucas, not make him leave

“can you uh, leave now? i have things to do today.” i told calum who nodded in understanding. we said our goodbyes and calum pulled me into one last hug.

“i’m proud of you luke, it took ashton six months to even consider it.” he chuckled. i nodded and he left.

i actually did have things to do, one being having to go to work since it was tuesday. i changed into something more formal and grabbed my keys off the counter, grabbing my phone off the floor and stuffing it in my back pocket as i left my house.

the sky was multiple shades of grey (i refuse to put fifty shades) meaning it was probably going to rain today. that didn’t bug me though, i take walks in the rain anyways. they always reminded me of the times micha-

who?

no one

i kept my thoughts quiet after that, with the exception of the voices as i walked to music store. it was only a twenty minute walk as i reached the front steps of the small shop and stepped inside. the little bell above the door going off making abbie, the girl who runs the front desk turn around.

“hey lucas.”she greeted, resting her elbows on the desk as she slumped over.

“it’s luke.” i groaned, yet not being able to keep myself from smiling. abbie was probably the only person that showed up for work besides me, and those who did just hanged around in the back to smoke. she was around five’ four with thick (obviously dyed) blonde curly hair. she wore think black rimmed glasses that made her brown eyes stand out.

honestly, if i wasn’t gay then i would date her. but that’ll never happen.

“whatever, lucas, can you re-stock the shelves?” she asked. i furrowed my eyebrows together in confusion.
