i was going to have a supernatural marathon but noooo i had to update

winter.
it's been an entire two months since i last saw michael and as far as i knew, he's writing a song. i hopped back over the fence, my feet landing in a small pile of snow from earlier and stuffing my hands in my pockets. the small scraps of paper warmed up my hands as i entered my house and shrugged off my coat.
my feet patted across the wooden floors to the living room where i usual sat to figure this stuff out. i emptied my pockets of the pieces of paper and unfolded each one carefully before pulling a small shoe box out from under the couch and emptying it. i moved some of the pieces around, knowing which goes where because i used to write songs with michael.
i knew how he put words together and soon i was smiling to myself at the creation in front of me. [i do realize some of the lyrics are switched but iTS FOR LUKE STFU AND ITS LIKE ONE LINE. *cough* totally not the first one]
six weeks since you've been away /now you're sayin' everything has changed /and i'm afraid that i might be loosing you /now every night that i spend alone /kills me thinking of you on your own /and i wish i was back home next to you
oh everyday /i feel a little bit further away /and i don't know what to say
i hadn't collected a lot of pieces but it's a lot for two months. i didn't understand why he left them in his front lawn, or how he didn't see me climbing over his fence every day to see if there was anything new.
i sighed and picked them up in order, clipping them together with a paper clip before placing them back in the box. i stood up and kicked the box back under the couch before heading to the bathroom to take a shower.
after i settled in some warm pajamas and my hair was somewhat sorted out, i picked up the phone and called calum asking him if he wanted to come over. i called abbie too and gave her my address after saying she'd be there in twenty minutes.
the front door opening and closing made me grown when i realized i forgot to lock it but i smiled as calum jumped on me. "where's ashton?" i asked, noticing no one else came to tackle me. the kiwi boy looked up from his position and shrugged. "somewhere over the rainbow." he sang softly and i chuckled.
we both sat in a comfortable silence before calum got up to make hot chocolate and someone knocked at the door. i got up to answer but the handle was already being twisted and abbie came in.
"you really should lock your door." she smirked and i rolled my eyes, grabbing her arm and leading her towards the kitchen.
"abbie this is calum and cal this is abbie." i smiled and they both shook hands before calum offered her a mug and she accepted. once the they were settled down i plopped myself back down on the couch while they talked in the kitchen. there were small laughs and i could already feel the tension between the two.
"he's gay!" i called out from my spot and i lifted my head up to see calum and abbie peaking their heads out through the corner. "that's nice." abbie said before coming out to join me in the living room. i noticed i only had a single couch and she sat down on the floor.
calum, on the other hand, set his mug down and jumped on me. "stop taking up the couch you fatass!"
"i'm not fat you are!"
"bite me."
"don't you have ashton to do that?"
abbie slapped a hand over her mouth before erupting in a fit of laughter. calum pouted and sat on my chest, taking out his phone like i didn't exist and pressed his phone to his ear.
"can you come over please?" calum asked and i assumed it was ashton. i smirked and abbie winked at me.
"because luke- yes, i know but, okay. love you."
it went quiet.
"well?" i asked quietly as calum threw his phone somewhere on the floor.
"he's busy." he said bluntly before getting up off me and storming towards the front door. i flinched as he slammed it shut after him and i looked at abbie. "is he okay?" she asked softly, taking another sip from her mug. i nodded.
"yeah he's fine, they'll probably just fuck and make up."
abbie scrunched her face up and i laughed mumbling an apology. i noticed how calum left his phone here so i made a mental note to bring it back. but for now, me and abbie talked till she had to go and i waved goodbye as she left. i picked up all the mugs and set them in the sink before turning out the lights.
i threw my coat back on and left out the from door, going over to the familiar wooden fence and wondering if it will ever be taken down. i knew michael liked his walls, he was quite good at building them but i was always there to put a window in. i jumped, my hands gripping the top of the fence and pulling myself over.
the only light i had was from my phone and i turned it on, scanning the lawn before my eyes widened. [i keep looking around my room cause this even scared the fuck out of me] michael was sitting on his front porch, his black figure sending a shiver up my spine as i walked towards him. just as i took the first step, something crunched under my socked feet and i picked the paper up quickly.
"i thought you hated me." his voice was low and unsure. he must have stopped talking again.
"i never said that." i told him, taking a seat next to him on his porch. the paper crunched in my pocket. "why are you out?"
"it's my property isn't it?"
"don't get smart with me."
he chuckled and shook his head in amusement. "i would never get smart with you lucas."
my face scrunched in disgust at the name. "don't call me that." i got up but michael grabbed my arm and tugged me back down.
"stay."
"i'm cold."
"then come inside."
so i did.
