"oh good, you're awake. let's go home now."
my eyes adjusted to the bright lights in the hospital room. well at least i remembered where i was. ashton stood in front of me with a bored calum clung to his side.
"really?" i asked, rolling my eyes. i got up slowly, my body feeling numb. calum let go of ashton and grabbed a wheel chair before helping me in it.
"i'll check us out, meet us at the front." ashton told us before walking out. calum wheeled me down the long white hallways. "so how are you feel-"
"you ask me that, i'll get up and beat you with the wheel chair." i said, stopping his before he could even finish. calum mumbled a small sorry as we reached the front.

"call us if you need anything, and you're not going to work." ashton carefully narrowed his eyes at me. i swallowed the lump that formed in my throat and nodded, not wanting to argue.
once the front door slammed shut, i slowly got up from the wheel chair, not feeling numb anymore and grabbed a glass of water from the kitchen.
i knew that abbie was probably informed about this whole thing so i didn't have an excuse to at least go near the store. for some reason i missed it, it kept me distracted and as much as i've had a few bad moments there, it still felt like a second home.
i ran my hands through my flat hair and decided to look a little presentable today. i went over to the bathroom and turned the shower on, stripping in front of the mirror and stepping in.
i had to have least have spent a good hour in there before getting out and wrapping a fluffy white towel around me. i dried my hair lazily and changed into some basketball shorts and a baggy white tank top with a couple paint stains on it. i don't even know how it got mixed in with my clothes but it did and it smelled nice so whatever.
i wasn't planning on going anywhere today but at least i smelled like lavender. i aimlessly walked around my house, enjoying the silence the pills gave me. i decided on taking a nap instead of walking around my house, heading over to the couch and plopping myself down on it. i grabbed the blanket that was on the floor and threw it over myself.
+four months after the last dream
why are you running so fast, luke?
the black backpack was clutched to my chest as i took off down the street. my clothes, stolen money, and food where kept away in it.
i didn't understand why the voices where asking me why i was running so fast- you can steal and take your time walking away. i stopped in front of a bus stop, my eyes widening to adjust to the darkness.
i read over the names, seeing one was heading to new jersey in half hour.
"perfect." i whispered to myself, sitting down on the bench and wrapping my arms around myself and the back pack.
"you will be my getaway."

it was quiet.
too quiet.
i narrowed my eyes at the wooden fence in front of me. there were no voices telling me to leave (although i know i took the pills), no headaches, just silence. for a moment, i felt free.
i walked along the tall structure, even standing in the middle of the road and going on my tippy toes to see the roof just barely.
i was probably acting like a child but i didn't care, i hated this. the silence was nice though. i was so used to being told what to do but today i felt like a kid that got to stay home alone all day.
giving up on the stupid wooden structure, i decided to go over to calum and ashton's to rid my mind of it. hopefully they weren't sucking each other faces off when i answered the door.
when i got to the dark blue painted house, i knocked hesitantly and waited for one of them to answer. sadly, no one did and i sighed and walked away.
maybe they were sucking each other's faces off.
michael and i used to do tha-
michael.
i ran back across the street, licking my lips when i found myself standing in front of the wooden structure again. i took a step forward, taking a deep breath and jumping.
my hands gripped the top of the fence, struggling to pull myself up i had gotten a leg over and soon my body crashed over on the other side.
