it's been nearly a week since my break down at the store.

calum sat on the floor across from me, his hair a tired mess as it was five in the morning. i couldn't sleep, so instead i called calum over. at first he yelled at me, but then i told him i would make him chinese food if he came over.

as i stuffed a forkful of noodles in my mouth i noticed how calum was biting his lower lip here and there.

"are you okay?" i asked, my eyes searching for any kind of emotion in his. he simply shook his head no and got off the floor.

"it's fine, just wondering when ashton will be back because i need to ask him something."

i nodded, picking my phone up that was placed in front of me. "it's nearly six in the morning, he's not back?"

calum shook his head no again. "he went out with some friends and i don't know what to do because these aren't good people, luke. i can't stand the thought of him cheating."

calum's eyes were getting watery and as soon as the first sniffle was heard i jumped off the floor and pulled him into a hug.

"calum he loves you, i promise you he won't cheat on you." i sighed, calum continued to cry on my shoulder and the voices came back. my medicine was supposed to me coming in today which i was thankful for.

oh trust me, he's fucking someone right now and he doesn't even know it

i ignored the voice and calum hugged me harder, his arms gripping my back but i didn't mind. i knew ashton would never cheat, he loves calum, he's all he ever talks about.

i felt calum pull away, wiping under his eyes with his palms.

"i should get going, i need sleep." he yawned.

good, you were annoying anyways

i nodded, calum smiled and made his way to the front door and left with a simple goodbye. i plopped myself down on the couch, since i wasn't scheduled for work today.

a yawn escaped my lips and i closed my eyes, trying my best to drift off.

don't fall asleep just yet, you're not tired

i haven't slept all night though so shut the fuck up, you're leaving today anyways

i brought put my bowl in the sink along with calum's and rubbed my eyes, wanting to go on a walk instead of sleep. i grabbed my phone in placed it in my back pocket, not wanting to change because some grey sweat pants and a white t-shirt should be fine.

i left my house, turning left to walk along the wooden fence. i remembered how that boy climbed over the fence. he seemed pretty good at it since he can get over it so fast. how long has he been doing it for?

the sun was almost up, giving the sky a light pink color that made me smile for the first time in who knows when. my walk only lasted a few minutes, as i was already turned around and at the fence again. the sound of the front door open and closing from the inside grabbed my attention.

time for a headache, luke

i nearly rolled my eyes at the stupid comment. i've been dealing with these headaches much better by fighting against them. but as soon as my neighbor hopped over the fence and landed in front of me, i started to wish i had that headache.

"shit." he mumbled, turning around and quickly taking off in the direction that lead to town. i stood frozen, my hands in my pocket.

why did he voice sound so familiar now?

it was almost raspy, like he talked for the first time in weeks. it reminded me of how michael would wake up in the mornings, his voice always low and dry. i smiled at the faint memories and closed my eyes.

+six months after getting together

(yes i realize this will be out of order now but you will thank me you bitches)

"good morning beautiful." michael's soft voice whispered into my ear. my eyes fluttered open and i smiled at the arm that instantly tightened around me. i glanced up at the christmas lights that were still on hanging around his room.

"morning." i mumbled back tiredly, closing my eyes and snuggling up to his bare chest. he small stubble tickled my cheek as he tried to lean down for a kiss. a small giggle left my lips and i could sense michael raising an eyebrow at me.

"did my kitten just giggle?" he asked curiously, pushing me away slightly to look at me. i kept my eyes focused on my hands playing with the small patch of comforter between us.

"n-no." i managed to say, slapping myself in my mind when i stuttered.

"is that so? because if my kitten did he would have gotten breakfast in bed. guess not.." michael cooed, snuggling back up to me and a small frown found its way to my lips.

"n-no! kitten did giggle!" i protested, pushing michael away now and straddling his lap. the smirk looked like it was permanent on his face. i was always this attached in the mornings for some reason.

"let me here it then, again." michael grinned, his hands immediately going to my sides and small giggles left my lips. i was pushed back on to the bed, michael's hands resting on my hips with a smile planted on his lips.

i leaned up and let our foreheads touch, his lips ghosting over mine before he connected them.

"i love you so much, kitten." he mumbled.

"i love you too."

"well my shift is over, i'll see you tomorrow luke." abbie said, giving me a small wave before leaving the store. i didn't want to be alone, and stupidly my medicine hadn't shown up today. i groaned, leaning my elbows on the counter and stuffing my head in my hands.

all i wanted to do was sleep, but that was ruined when the little bell above the door went off. i looked up, in hopes of seeing the boy from this morning but instead saw ashton.

he looked pissed. "come on, you're going home. calum told me you haven't slept all day." he growled, grabbing my arm and dragging me out of the store. i locked it up quickly before being pushed into ashton's car.

the drive home was silent, the sound of out breathing and the faint sounds of green day coming from the radio making the situation nerve racking. "by the way, here's your pills. now take them."

a bottle was shoved into my chest and the car made a sharp turn. i quickly popped two and my mouth and swallowed them dryly. ashton seemed to be a little more relaxed now, his hands loosening on the steering wheel as he pulled up in front of my house.

"luke, you should have told me you ran out of pills." ashton sighed. i nodded and looked down at my lap.

"i'll see you tomorrow yeah?" he asked, smiling now.

"yeah, that would be nice." i answered getting out of the car. ashton waved me off and i went inside. i assumed that calum and ashton made up because the lights went on in their house and the last thing i saw was calum being pressed against the window.
