hell yeah a double update

+

the sound of rain hitting my windows made me all jumpy inside for some reason. i quickly got up and threw on some basketball shorts and a plain black t-shirt before heading out the door. it's only been a month since i moved here, and apart from it being below zero all the time, i was okay with this weather. i walked down the pavement as the rain drenched my clothes but i didn't care. i decided today would be the day where i met all my neighbors.

are you sure you're making the right decision? we've talked about thi-

yes

first i started with going across the street. i lived on the corner house so the only person next to me was, well that. and i didn't want to bother with that. i walked across the street to the dark blue painted house and knocked on the door three times. there were a couple shouts coming from inside, despite it pouring rain. they were louder.

"shut the fuck up im getting it!"

"then why aren't you at the door yet?!"

there were loud footsteps coming from inside before the door swung open making me jump back a little. a tanned boy with brown eyes and dark brown hair with a blonde streak going through it stood in front of me.

"who the fu-oh my god are you okay?" he asked, motioning to the fact that i was soaking wet.

"i'm fine, i live across the street." i told him. he looked past my shoulder for a second and then back at me.

"oh, so you're the new guy that moved in?" he asked. i nodded.

"well nice to meet you, i'm calum." he said extending a hand for me to shake. i shook his hand before letting go. "luke."

"do you want to come in or something?"

"that would be nice."

calum and i actually became good friends. he told me about all the neighbors, the ones that i should meet and the ones that i shouldn't. one that thing got me though as he spoke, is that he never brought up my next door neighbor. it was like they didn't exist.

"-so stay away from mrs. whitfield, she's a-" calum started to finish but someone opened his bedroom door cutting him off.

"who's this?"

a boy with light brown curls stepped into the room and sat behind calum, wrapping his arms around him and resting his head on his shoulder.

"this is luke, he moved in across the street."

"nice to meet you luke, i'm ashton."

he extended a hand to me that i shook. "nice to meet you too."

he looks like an elf

i giggled a little at the thought, earning concerned stares from the boys across from me. instead of questioning it though, they shrugged it off. we all talked for a little while, mostly about if any of us were in school still and little things. calum ordered us a pizza that we all shared and by then it hadn't stopped raining despite how late it was.

"what time is it?" i asked randomly. calum took out his phone and pressed the power button.

"6:03pm, why do you need to be somewhere?"

i shook my head no. "just curious."

"well that's a weird thing to be curious about. honestly if there's anything you should be curious about it should be your neig-" ashton started but mentally stopped himself when calum pinched him.
