"do you remember when you tried to have sex with me but you fell off the bed?" i laughed, seeing michael's cheeks turn pink.
"we don't speak of that." he glared at me.
"your turn then." i smiled, my hands intertwined with his behind his head. i sat straddling his hips as we talked about old memories together.
"do you remember when you tried to make me breakfast but set the kitchen on fire?"
"no, that never happened."
michael rolled his eyes and i leaned down, giving him a quick peck on the lips. "do you remember when i first kissed you?"
"that i do remember," he grinned. "you brought out the step stool because you were too short."
+summer of junior year
"stop swaying your hips!" michael shouted from his place on the couch. i turned around,
and turned up my music.
i heard michael groan loudly as i walked over to the couch, bending over slightly so my lips where right next to his ear.
"make me, clifford."
michael got up from his space on the couch, turning around and sitting on his knees. his hands gripped the ends of the couch as he looked at me.
"w-what are you doing?" i asked, swallowing all my confidence. i bit my bottom lip as he cupped my cheeks, leaning in and i got on my tippy toes.
my lips connected with something other than michael's lips and i quickly opened my eyes.
i kissed his chin.
"are you fuc.king kidding me!" i screamed, storming off into the kitchen while michael bursted into a fit of laughter. i knew he was tall but he was sitting down on the couch, this is bullshit.
i threw open the pantry door, grabbing the small black step stool and marching back into the living room. "what are you doing?" michael laughed as he watched me place the step stool in front of him. i placed both feet on it, smiling at the height difference.
"shut up and kiss me now." i huffed, watching as michael looked at me. i closed my eyes and took a deep breath, hearing some shuffling before someone's lips where planted on mine.
"is that better kitten?" the green haired boy asked as i opened my eyes, looking down to see he was standing on the couch. i once again had to look up at him.
"very."
"stop judging." i whined, leaning kissing his lips once again.
"it's not my fault you have to invest half your money in step stools." he chuckled.
"i don't!" i argued, scooting back so michael could sit up. his hair was slightly flat from it being pressed against the pillows for so long.
"you amuse me sometimes." he laughed tapping my thigh and i got off of him completely. i grabbed his wrist and pulled him off the bed, leading him towards the kitchen and plopping myself down on the counter.
i swung my legs out in front of me, watching michael eyeing them as he grabbed his phone off the counter. "so this can either be a catch up day or a me and you day, your pick."
"you and me day."

"abbie, this is michael and michael this is abbie." i sighed, watching abbie narrow her eyes at michael.
"have i seen you before?" she asked, placing her hands on her hips. it's an abbie thing i guess.
"i don't think so." michael said, looking at me for an answer and i shrugged.
"i thought i've heard about you before, but that's okay. it was nice to meet you." abbie smiled.
we had decided to stop into town because abbie would blow up about it if i didn't let her meet him soon. after saying our goodbyes we continued our journey down the street. the sun starting to set since we had spent half our day making a blanket fort.
"can we go home?" i asked as we made a left turn. michael nodded, stuffing his hands in his pockets and i became slightly jealous.
those pockets are so lucky.
when we got to the home michael sat me down on the lawn and laid down as i laid between his legs. it had already gotten dark out, the sky not having any stars tonight.
"do you think they're hiding?" i asked, gazing upon the endless darkness that was the night.
"i think they're sleeping." michael smiled, kissing behind my ear. his chin rested on my shoulder.
"stars can't sleep."
"how do you know?"
"i don't."
"then they're sleeping."
i sighed, leaving the arguement at that before michael spoke up again. "you want to know why they're sleeping?"
i hummed in response.
"because they're tired."
"wow michael i didn't know that." i rolled my eyes. michael laughed at his own joke and i leaned into his touch. "are you tired?"
"a little." i said, a yawn escaping my lips. "maybe a lot."
"then go to sleep, and i'll watch you fall asleep under a tired sky"
"michael, the stars aren't sleeping shut up."
