Abstract

CHAPTER 4

Khyrieze Llanelli Villaraigosa's POV

"Are you dating Rian?" napatingin ako sa taong biglang umupo sa tabi ko. She handed me a gatorade na agad ko namang tinanggap.

"What?! That's absurd!" I defended and look at her with disbelief.

"Easy mate, I'm just asking. Nakita ko kasi kayong sabay kanina" natatawang sabi pa nito at inakbayan ako. Napairap naman ako sa ginawa niya.

I immediately removed her arms at lumayo ng bahagya sa kanya. "Yes we're teammates but that doesn't mean na magkaibigan na tayo. Whatever I do, it's none of your business" mahina kong sabi at ininom ang binigay niya. Binalik ko ang tingin ko sa mga Volleyball player na kasalukuyang nag tra-training sa court nila. Hindi ko maiwasang titigan si Rian while wearing her jersey and short shorts. Damn! I admire her shape.

"Your walls are so high, ang hirap akyatin but I will not give up. Ngayon pa na malapit kanang bumigay" napalingon akong muli sa taong katabi ko at nakita ko ang kakaibang ngiti sa kanyang mga labi. Did she just saw me checking out Rian? Jeez!

"Stop it Aloe Vera, wala ka naman mapapala sakin" walang emotion na sabi ko dito. She suddenly rolled her eyes.

"How many times should I tell you that It's Aleone Vera (Alone Vera) not Aloe Vera! Gosh! Just call me AV" naiiritang sabi nito. Bahagya naman akong napangiti sa naging reaction niya. Pikon din pala ang isang to. "Finally! Ngumiti ka rin sakin!" natutuwang sabi niya kaya napaayos ako ng upo at nag seryoso. I know her, who wouldn't? She's the most crazy girl in the team. She brings good vibes and cheer up when time is tough. But still, I don't want her to be my friend.

"You're so annoying, hindi ka gumaya sa kakambal mo na tahimik lang at walang pakialam sa paligid niya" Sabi ko at tumingin sa kapatid niya na tahimik na nag cellphone sa kabilang gilid niya. Yep, she have a twin,
Aerelle Ashen Sandoval o mas kilala bilang AA. They are my both teammates since 1st year up until now. I can say that they are really nice people, but like what I've said. I don't want them to be my friends.

"We might have the same features but we're not the same, we're completely opposite" mahinang sabi nito. I can hear the sadness in her voice kaya napatingin akong muli sa kanya. Oh shit! You're being insensitive Khyrieze!

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to said those things." I sincerely said. I know it's not appropriate to compare someone to another person but I didn't mean it. I'm just annoyed!

"It's fine, you're not the first person to said those kind of words" ngumiti ito sakin but it didn't reached her eyes.

"Whatever you're thinking right now, always remember that you are one of the kindness and amazing person that I get to know. Yeah you're annoying but I know you have a good heart. I can feel it. It just that, I don't like making friends. So I hope you're not offended"mahinang sabi ko. Tumango tango naman ito.

"I understand, but I hope, you learned to give us a chance to get to know you more. We're more than what you see, and I hope someday, you get the courage to open your heart for the people who wants to be part of your life." then she gave me genuine smile. Tumango lang ako at binalik ang tingin sa mga Volleyball players na kasalukuyang papunta sa locker room. Maybe tapos na ang mga ito at magpapalit na sila.

"Sometimes, because of the fear that buried inside us, we often forget that there's a lot more than what we thought the world could offer." hindi ako tumingin sa taong nagsalita pero alam ko kung kaninong boses ito. She might not talk a lot, but every words that would come out from her mouth, definitely have purpose. "Do you really think that my sister want something from you kaya ka niya kinukulit palagi? Nah, you're wrong." sabi nito. Alam ko narinig niya yung sinabi ko kanina.

"I'm just stating the fact, wala naman talaga kayong mapapala kung kakaibiganin niyo ako" I said then finally met AA's gaze. Umiling ito.

"We're not up to something, we're rooting for you because we want you to became our friends. We don't have a lot, we just have real one's! Thats why we want you too, because we know that you are one of a kind. You're a real friend for us Kerby" AA said and sincerity are visible in her eyes right now. They called me Kerby because they want something different daw. They get the Ker from Khyr and by from Vi in my surname. Khyrvi turns out to Kerby. And yes, Aloevera suggested that.

"I don't know, let's see. But don't put your hopes up dahil ayokong umasa kayo. For now, Thank you for being good to me. Mauna na ako" sabi ko at inayos na ang gamit ko. Nakita ko na kasing lumabas si Rian at mukang may hinahanap.

Kanina pa kasi tapos ang training namin, naisip ko lang maupo sa bench namin to watch Rian. Somehow nalulungkot ako para sa kambal dahil hindi ko sila magawang pagkatiwalaan. I know I'm being unfair because Rian and I known each other for a day and my trust for her is unexplainable samantalang yung dalawa ay halos mag aapat na taon ko nang kasama. Maybe that's life, that's the reality. It's not about how long you have known someone for you to decide what will gonna happened to your relationship but the connection between the two of you.

"Gosh! It's tiring" Ri said paglapit ko sa pwesto niya. Her teammates left kaya naman nakalapit na ako dito ng walang pagaalinlangan.

"You need some help?" I asked then without her consent, I get her gym bag from her shoulder.

"You don't have to do that, I know you're tired as well" sabi nito at tangkang aagawin yung bag pero nilayo ko ito sa kanya.

"Kanina pa kami tapos, nakapag pahinga na ako ikaw ngayon palang." sabi ko and smiled at her. Ngumiti ito pabalik.

"Thank you K, gosh! Now I'm wondering if you're my guardian angel." she said then hold my arm before we start walking.

"Am I?" natatawang tanong ko dito. Tumango naman siya.

"Una, yung nangyare kagabi. Then this" she said. "Would you mind it tumambay muna tayo sa park?" tanong nito kaya napahinto ako.

"Are you sure? Hindi kaba natatakot na baka, nandun yung manong kahapon?" I asked pero umiling siya.

"Aside from you're with me, hindi tayo sa dulo pupunta. Mag foodtrip tayo sa harap!" excited na sabi nito na tila kumikinang pa ang mga mata.

"Okay, mag sabi ka nalang kay tita para hindi siya mag alala" sabi ko naman then she just nodded. Nagpatuloy nalang kami sa paglalakad at tinungo na ang park.
