Pranbir: lifeless without you

Part 14: Meeting the Kohlis

They reached Kohli's mansion and Ranbir helped her our of the car.
Prachi, excitedly:"Ranbir, Dida would be like Dids, right?"
He hummed in response.

Prachi:"will she like me?"
Ranbir:"she already likes you and after meeting you she will love you. Let's go."
She nodded and they headed inside.

Dida and Aryan were already in the hall along with Mehra's. Rhea was surprised seeing Prachi with Ranbir.
Rhea to herself:"what is she doing here?"
Aryan noticed Pranbir at the door and called Dida.
He signed her to the door and Dida saw Prachi.

She came to them. Prachi greeted her.
Aryan gestured her to touch Dida's feet but she couldn't get it.
She signed him asking what which Dida also noticed.
Dida:"he is just teasing you. Come here."
She brought them inside. As Dida had to see the preparation she had to leave them.

Dida:"you guys enjoy, i will just be back ok?"
Pranbir nodded.

Shahana came to them.
Shahana:"i am so happy that you came. And yeah you will have to come for every function."
Prachi:"done."
Shahana:"come with me. I will introduce you to Masi."
She pulled Prachi with her.

She took Prachi to Pragya.
Shahana:"Masi, she is my friend Prachi."
Prachi:"hello aunty."
Pragya was looking at her while Prachi was confused.
Shahana:"Masi..."
Shahana took Prachi with her after Pragya blessed her.

Arbir were together talking when Rhea came to them.
Rhea:"why did you bring your assistant here?"
Ranbir looked away uninterested. Aryan also knew that he wasn't going to answer her.

Aryan:"she is Shahana's friend."
Rhea:"so? She shouldn't have come here. Today is only family members."
Dida called Aryan and Shahana to explain them the rituals. Aryan had to leave unwillingly.

Rhea, to Ranbir:"you didn't answer me."
Ranbir ignored her and turned away.

However, he faced another person he was trying to avoid.
Pallavi:"Ranbir, it's not nice being rude to someone. Rhea is talking to you."
She was about to touch him but Ranbir moved back.

She smirked seeing him.
Pallavi, whispered to him:"Come on, you wouldn't want another beating from Vikram."

"Ranbir, Dida is calling you." Pallavi and Rhea turned to see Prachi.
The latter came in between Pallavi and Ranbir.
Prachi:"hello aunty. Sorry to interrupt you, but Dida is calling Ranbir."

Prachi signed Ranbir. They were about to leave when Rhea asked them.
Rhea:"what kind of assistant are you? Calling your boss by his name and with authority."

Prachi:"Ranbir is my boss in office, not here. (To Ranbir) shall we go?"
Pranbir left and joined Arhana and Pragya/Dida.

Pallavi was observing Prachi and asked Rhea:"who is she?"
Rhea, angrily:"Prachi, Shahana's friend and Ranbir's assistant."

Pallavi:"seems like Ranbir is having a soft corner for her."
Rhea:"that kind of girl? I don't think so."
Pallavi:"i told you that you should be the one to become his assistant. Then where did this girl come?"
Rhea:"Ranbir is so arrogant...."
She stopped as Pallavi glared at her.
Rhea:"i mean that he is tough to break... he is not interested..."
Pallavi:"then make yourself interesting enough to catch his attention."
Rhea nodded.

On the other side:
Ranbir:"nice trick, Miss Oberoi..."
Prachi:"i wasn't going to leave you there. One sise that woman and on the other that Rhea..."

The prayer started. Arhana completed all the rituals as instructed.
Pragya's attention was on Prachi who was next to Ranbir.
Abhi asked her:"what happened? Who is she?"

Pragya:"Shahana's friend, but i know her friends and never saw or heard about Prachi before."
Abhi:"maybe a new friend. Nowadays kids make friends easily."
Pragya:"maybe."

After the prayer, Dida was in kitchen when Shahana brought Prachi there.
Prachi:"Dida, should i help you?"
Dida:"no, no. You are Ranbir's... guest. You shouldn't work."
Prachi:"because i am Ranbir's guest, i should help. Please."
Dida:"ok, ok. Serve this."
Shahana:"and me?"
Dida:"you nothing."

The girls and Dida served the guest together. Dida looked at Prachi and noticed how Ranbir was looking at her. Even though Ranbir was surrounded by other boys and they were chatting, his eyes were only on her.

Dida smiled seeing them.
Aryan:"you are smiling alone?"
Dida:"Look, how Ranbir is looking at Prachi."
Aryan:"Dida, your grandson is in love."

Soon all guests left, only the Mehra's were left.
Rhea:"The music ceremony is tomorrow and the choreographer is coming in an hour, so be ready."
Rhea:"and everyone has to dance. Compulsory."
Aryan whispered to Ranbir:"should i save a romantic song for you and Prachi?"

Ranbir nudged him.
Rhea:"mom, We should change and then come back."
Pragya nodded.
Abhi:"i will go with Vikram to check the preparations"
Pallavi also went to change.
