Part 44: Evil

At the party:
There were many guests and some media people. They were interviewing Vikram and Pallavi.
Vikram was happy with this and Pallavi had a genuine smile on her face for the first time.
She was enjoying the attention on her.

Pranbir arrived there hand in hand. Rhea fumed seeing that.
The media people rushed to Ranbir once they noticed him.
Vikram grew upset and Pallavi took that opportunity.
Pallavi:"see, Vikram, even now, he is taking all credits. I mean he does have a share in its success but not all.
They forgot you because of him. He must be enjoying this."

On the contrary, Ranbir hated media interactions. He always avoided it and left it on his team. He only addressed them in exceptional situations.

Aryan came to his rescue and requested the media to take a seat for the announcement.
Everyone followed his instructions.
Ranbir was using this party to announce the independence of his business.
And no one was aware of this except a few people.

Pallavi was confused when Rhea joined her.
Rhea:"i planned something, but Prachi needs to be away from Ranbir. Can you handle her in the meantime?"

Pallavi, not paying attention:"yeah, whatever."
Rhea left happily.

Ranbir went on stage and made his announcement. Pallavi was hell shocked hearing it.
The media people asked some questions to which Ranbir replied and then got off the stage.
Pallavi to Vikram:"you signed on those papers?"
Vikram:"yeah now he won't come here and will not hurt you."

Pallavi:"have you gone mad? I needed him. He had to suffer."
Vikram:"yeah, he has. Amd he will in the meantime. But i needed to throw him out of everything."

Pallavi went to her room frustratedly. Vikram went bak to the party.

Pallavi's room:
Pallavi angrily threw a glass.
Pallavi to herself:"Vikram is such an idiot. I made Ranbir come back and joined the business so that he stays here. And he.... He freed him. Now Ranbir will go away. No, no. Ranbir cannot go away. I can't let that happen. I must do something. Prachi.... Prachi..."

She washed her face and came back to the party.

In the party:
Ranbir was searching for Prachi amid the guests but couldn't find her.
A servant came to him and handed him a piece of paper.
Servant:"Sir, ma'am sent this for you."
He left afterwards.
He opened the chit and read it.
"Come to Shahana old room, there is a surprise for you."

He found it weird and searched for her around.
He didn't find her, so decided to check it. He went to Mehra's mansion and found it completely empty.
He went to Shahana's room and it was completely dark. He tried to find the switch but in vain.
He was about to leave but someone held his arm and pulled him inside.
He could hear soft music being played and tried to move away.
He could identify that it was a girl but it wasn't Prachi. He could identify her touch. It was definitely not her.
He pushed her away but the person brought him closer.
She was touching him and tried to remove his blazer. Ranbir pushed her away.
Ranbir:"who are you?"
"Oh come on, Ranbir. You surely know it."

Ranbir:"Rhea?"
Rhea:"see that's true love, you recognise me."
Ranbir was about to leave but again Rhea pulled him and they fell on the bed with Ranbir on top of her.

And the lights turned on.
Ranbir looked at the door and found Prachi with Aryan.
Ranbir hurriedly got up and moved away from Rhea.

Aryan looked between Pranbir as Prachi looked on. Rhea also got up and pretended to adjust her dress.
Rhea:"Prachi.... Hmmm what are ..."
Ranbir, approaching Prachi:"Prachi?"

But Prachi stopped him. She came to them and looked at Rhea.
Rhea:"Prachi, it's nothing like you saw....."
But before she could finish, she felt a burning sensation on her cheek.
Arbir were shocked seeing Prachi slapping Rhea.

Prachi:"i thought you would back off knowing that Ranbir and I are together but no. I stayed quiet thinking that you will understand by yourself or by Ranbir's ignorance.
What you just did prove at what length you can go."

Rhea:"you saw what happened and still blaming me? Ranbir wants me just like i want him."
Prachi slapped her once more.

Prachi:"i saw what you wanted me to see. You think i will believe this more than Ranbir. This won't work. We trust each other and i know he will not even look at another girl, forget doing what you are trying to portray."
Rhea looked on while Aryan was proud of Prachi. She didn't believe it for one instance.

Prachi:"one more thing, Ranbir is my boyfriend so stay away from my boyfriend. If i see you acting like this with Ranbir again, the slap won't be enough then."

Aryan:"let's go, Rhea."
Rhea:"you think Ranbir loves you. No. He can't love a pathetic girl like you."
Prachi:"ohh he does love me. I don't need your views or opinion on this. And what you think about me doesn't matter.
Just stay away from Ranbir."

Aryan dragged Rhea with him outside the room.
Prachi, frustratedly:"we should really go back to London."
Ranbir:"we are. I am booking the tickets."

He was about to leave but she held his arm and hugged him tightly.
He kissed her forehead.
Ranbir:"you didn't believe what you saw even for a second?"
Prachi nodded no.

Prachi:"like i said before, you won't look at any other girl other than me. And i am sure you pushed her away but she didn't let you."
Ranbir:"you trust me so much?"
She nodded yes.

Prachi:"it's not blind trust. I just know you by heart that's why i am 100% confident."
He hugged her once more.

Aryan dragged Rhea to her room while Shahana joined him. She asked him what happened.
Aryan:"get it clear in your head, Rhea. Ranbir belongs to Prachi and no one else. Your tactics aren't going to work."
Shahana:"you still didn't understand. Ranbir loves Prachi. Stay away from him."

Aryan:"Stay away from my brother or otherwise i will take legal actions and get a restraining order against you."
He left with Shahana angrily and Shahana locked the room.
Shahana:"stay locked here until the party is over."

Rhea knocked on the door repeatedly but in vain.
Rhea:"why did Prachi come there? I thought Pallavi aunty was handling her. Damn it."
