Pranbir: lifeless without you

Part 15: Prachi being Prachi

Dida:"now that everyone left, i can talk to you."
She focussed on Prachi.
Dida:"how did my grandson manage to have such a beautiful girlfriend?"
Prachi blushed at the compliment.

Dida:"and why did you hide her for so long?"
Prachi:"Dida, it's all his fault (pointing to Ranbir) i told him several times that i wanted to talk with you guys. But he kept refusing."

Ranbir glared at her.
Prachi:"see Dida, how he is glaring at me."
Dida and Arhana laughed.

Aryan:"hmmm now i know, Prachi defies Ranbir. His anger, feelings and thoughts, she defies everything. That's why you like her."
Shahana:"ohhh, interesting."
Ranbir ruffled his hair nervously.

Aryan:"and i am sure when Prachi defies you, you can't counter attack right?"
He teased them. Ranbir threw a cushion on him.

Ranbir:"you guys are teaming up with her."
Prachi:"obviously, i am cuter than you."
They all chuckled hearing her.

Dida:"and i am on her team."
Aryan:"me too."
Aryan high five Prachi.
Shahana:"me too." She side hugged Prachi.

Ranbir:"that's not fair."
Dida:"she is yours in the end. So everyone is on your side eventually."
Ranbir smiled at that.

Shahana:"i want to know your love story."
Dida:"yes yes. Tell us."
Pranbir looked at each other.

Prachi, excitedly:"ok, i will tell you."
Aryan:"let me guess, you met Ranbir in his office."
Prachi nodded no.
Prachi:"we met at a party."
Dida and Aryan:"party?"
Shahana:"why are you shocked?"
Aryan, pointing to Ranbir:"YOU went to a party?"
Ranbir:"can't i go?"
Aryan:"you are definitely not a party guy."
Shahana:"party guy or not, not important. Continue, Prachi."

Prachi was about to speak but Pallavi came there.
Dida somewhere knew that Ranbir didn't want them to know about Prachi so she kept quiet too.

Pallavi:"why are you silent?"
She noticed Prachi there.

Pallavi, rudely:"and you, don't you have any work in office that you are sitting here?"
Prachi, faked smiled at her:"personal assistant stays with the boss wherever he goes."
Pallavi:"not in family function."
Dida:"leave it, Pallavi."

Shahana:"yeah, anyway i have to change as well, so i will go."
Pallavi:"take your friend with you."
Prachi:"my boss is Ranbir, i will stay with him."
Pallavi:"assistants are not needed when mothers are there, right Ranbir?"
The four youngsters were tensed.
Prachi:"well that depends on the type of mothers."
Pallavi fumed hearing her and was about to scold Prachi but Ranbir intervened.

Ranbir:"i have an important meeting on Monday. She needs to update me."
Pallavi, angrily:"there is no such meeting..."
Ranbir looked at her questioningly.

Aryan:"how do you know?"
Pallavi:"Vikram is still updated on everything there so am i."

Prachi:"video conference for his London business, not here."
Pallavi:"so you are handling London's one as well."
Prachi:"what can i do, he liked my work so much."

Pallavi looked on.
Ranbir:"Prachi, let's go."
Dida:"yes you guys do your work in Ranbir's room."
Ranbir nodded and Pranbir went upstairs.

Arhana and Dida also left while Pallavi fumed seeing Pranbir going upstairs.

Ranbir's room:
Prachi:"ahhhh i hate her.... I don't hate anyone but her.... With those smirks here and there."
He locked the door and chuckled at her reaction.

Prachi:"how can she act like this? You know i wanted to question her, rebuked her for doing this to you..."
She stopped seeing him chuckling.
Prachi:"you are finding it funny..."
Ranbir:"Prach... i am actually surprised. I didn't know that you have this kind of anger as well."

Prachi:"i guess it will come regularly now."
Ranbir hugged her to calm her down.

In between the hug:"Did you bring me here to hug me."
Ranbir:"actually i i do have something for you."
He opened his laptop and showed her a contract.
He really had a meeting and he trusted only her for the legal part.

They both sat down and worked together.
Prachi:"all clear, Sir?"
Ranbir nodded. She stood up to go downstairs but he held her wrist and pulled her to him.

Ranbir:"this work is done, but there is something else."
Prachi:"what is that?"
He leaned in and kissed her forehead.
Ranbir:"thank you for everything."
Prachi:"Mr. RK, if you want to thank me, then buy me chocolates."
Ranbir:"promise, on our way back to the hotel."

They heard music from downstairs.
Ranbir:"i guess the dance practice started."
Prachi:"what did you plan? Rhea said it was compulsory to dance."
Ranbir:"except for me. I don't dance. And Aryan knows it."

Prachi:"not even with me?"
She forwarded her hands to him. He happily took it.
Ranbir:"only with you."
They started waltzing to the soft music. He twirled her around and pulled her closer. He connected their foreheads.
He moved away from her only to turn her so that now he was hugging her from behind.
He again turned her to face him.

Prachi:"how i wish we stay just like this."
Ranbir:"we will, i won't let anyone come between us. Not even my problems."
Prachi:"no, whatever problem, we will deal with them together. No hiding."
Ranbir:"no hiding."
He kissed her forehead again.

He noticed her hair coming on her face and moved it back. He tugged it behind her ear, caressing her cheek with his thumb.
He moved closer and bent forward.  Prachi closed her eyes at their proximity.
He moved closer to kiss her lips but couldn't as they heard knocks on the door.

Prachi laughed at him.
Ranbir, annoyingly, went to open the door. It was Rhea.
As soon as he saw who it was, he went away. Prachi also sighed.

She knew Rhea's intention concerning Ranbir. She wasn't worried but that irritated her.

Prachi went to her.
Prachi:"do you need something?" Ranbir went back to his laptop.
Rhea:"the choreographer has come."
Prachi:"so?"
Rhea:"Ranbir..."
Prachi:"he is busy, you can leave and about the dance he is not interested. Thank you."
Prachi closed the door and came back to Ranbir.

Rhea was fuming but had to leave as she couldn't bear the insult.

Prachi sat next to him while he was looking at her.
She noticed his gaze.
Prachi, sadly:"was i too rude? I closed the door on her face."
Ranbir:"well, i am rubbing off on you. I would have done the same thing."

Prachi, chuckling:"i spent too much time with you."
Ranbir went to a laying position with his head on her lap.
Prachi ran her fingers in his hair.

He soon closed his eyes. Prachi took his laptop and was working in the meantime.

After one hour: the music from downstairs became louder and Ranbir woke up because of that.
Prachi:"we have been here for 2 hours, we should head down."
Ranbir also nodded.

He went to the washroom first and then they headed downstairs.
The others were dancing with the choreographer while Pranbir sat down.

They looked at Rhea, Arhana and Dida who were enjoying themselves with the choreographer. Abhigya also joined them. Only Pallavi was seated.

Prachi was smiling seeing their dance.
Prachi, whispered to Ranbir:"just imagine you dancing freely with them. How awesome will that be."
Ranbir:"nope. Don't even imagine it, because it's not gonna happen."
They both chuckled lightly. Pallavi was observing them carefully and clenched her fist seeing them laughing together.

Pallavi, to herself:"who is that girl? How can Ranbir be so comfortable with her? No, no. He cannot. There should be no one. I have to find out about her."

Shahana pulled Prachi to dance with them. Prachi danced with them happily.
Ranbir tried to hide his smile, tried hard but Pallavi noticed it. She left trom there quickly,
