Staring out the car window
At a bright, vibrant world.
It's autumn, and the leaves on the trees
Have turned bright, shining hues of auburn and gold. The cold, crisp air
With the scent of pumpkin and nostalgia
Brings you back to your childhood.Hiding in a world
Only you can see.
Hidden in your memories
Of gold and silver.
Of laughter and smiles.
Love and warmth.
There were bad days.
But there were always kind people
To bring color back into your life.
Those people are gone.
Left behind in those memories.
And the colorful radiance of joy
Is monochromatic and dry like dead leaves.
