(This was inspired by a deep, enlightening conversation with my partner about immortality. It rose a question within me but I never had the courage to ask out loud: "Would you forget me?" He said he'd take the chance to be immortal if it were given, all for the sake of knowledge, but I said I'd rather just die once I've lived a full life. What would you guys do? Anyway, here's the poem! First rhyming one I've written in a while! Please enjoy~)
I won't ask you to promise me
That you'll never move on
Or that you won't love someone new
Whenever I am gone
I won't ask you to think of me
With every living breath
To waste all your precious thoughts and words
Or live mourning my death
I won't ask you to change your mind
And lose your only chance
To seek out everything you've dreamed
And intellectually advance
I won't ask you to love me still
'Till the days the world has died
I'm happy knowing I was ever there
Right by your side.
I only ask that you remember me fondly,
All our good memories and cheer
And that even if we never meet again,
You may always find me here → ❤
