I stare at the clock, several thoughts in my mind
Her hands ticking freely;
No chains
No binds.
For She has no limits, as far as I know.
She can move fast
Or She can move slow
If you were oblivious to what She could do
She'd move rather swiftly, just to please you.
But if you were aware of the time ticking down
She'd slow down her pace
Just to keep you around.
Of these types, you were the first, so sweet and carefree
You'd always smile, despite how bad things might be
You never once pondered how Time moved so quick
And instead, you moved with HerUnaware of Her tricks.
I was of the second type, quite aware of her gameAll day, I watched the clock, though it seemed to stay the same.
However, when it was just me and you,
A month seemed to pass in an hour or two
You kept me distracted, at least for a while
And I learned, for the first time, what it felt like to smile.
We spent many years living like this together
How silly of me to think it would last forever...
Time came back to play, feeling wronged and cheated,
And in turn, She took the one thing that I needed
I should have just kept watching Time tick away
For now that She took you...
That's all I do every day.
