"Man you missed out majorly!" West chimed walking into my garden the following morning, Eldon, Hunter and Daniel had their heads held low. There was obviously hung over
"I doubt I've missed that much" I said rolling my eyes handing all 4 boys some painkillers and a glass of water
The last thing I want is them throwing up around here. The second one of them does the others will be soon to follow
"I can't believe you really didn't come" Daniel smirked
"Michelle were asking about you" Hunter said matching Daniel's smirk
"Well she can keep asking for all I could care" I replied 
Michelle is what most people would call the queen bee of our school. If she calls you run to her. No exception. Except me, she's been trying to get me to run for the last 2 years and it isn't happening
"I thought I heard some familiar voices!" Mum said walking out into the garden to say hello to the boys
"Morning Deborah" West said flashing his full smile
Since the divorce, my mother does all she can to make sure that she is involved in my life. I have to give credit to her. She managed to handle Piper and I well enough on her own. It makes me question why she ever needed Dad
"James don't forget, you are going to your dads tonight. Piper won't be though" She said, I looked at her with disgrace 
"Why isn't Piper suffering with me?" I asked
"She has a lot of work to be catching up on. You on the other hands, you never do homework" Mum said making me roll my eyes
"I would if it meant I didn't have to go" I grumbled earning a light chuckle from he as she left

"James" My father said as he opened up his front door, I looked at him before turning my glances to the girl almost my age stood next to him
"New pick of the week dad?" I asked to which my father grumbled underneath his breath stepping aside so I could come in
"Wind that attitude" He said as I threw myself onto the sofa
"I'm Grace, it's nice to finally meet you James." the young lady said introducing herself. I didn't say anything else instead I rolled my eyes walking up to my room
"Why have you got to be so ungrateful! She's making a damn effort for you!" My dad yelled slamming my door open
"I don't want her damn effort. You know what you did was wrong and I'm not going to sit by idly while you try and fix this life you broke!" I yelled causing my dad to punch my door before leaving
Safe to say I get my anger from that man, I'm sure Grace is lovely but she's just another notch in his belt. If she is like the others, she won't be around long enough for us to even bother knowing

"Sounds like I'm not the only one in family arguments" A familiar voice said, I opened the curtain of my window more to see the window wide open and Riley stood at the window opposite 
"You live here?" I asked and Riley looked around before laughing
"Yeah" She replied
"Are you okay?" She asked and I sighed taking a seat on the window ledge
"Nothing I can't handle" I replied
"How are things your end?" I asked. After our conversation last night, it was pretty obvious that she was in a bad place and didn't really have anyone around to pull her out
"No yelling as of yet" She replied with a warm smile
"That's great" I smiled back
Riley and I sat at the windows talking for quite sometime before there was some yelling come from downstairs of her house
"I swear they argue more and more as the days go on" Riley said bowing her head
"Want an escape?" I offered, Riley looked up at me with a peak of curiosity in her eyes
"What did you have in mind?" She said making me smirk before agreeing to meet her out front in 20

"I'm going out!" I called making Grace and my dad walk out of the kitchen obviously a little flustered
"Oh where are you going honey" Grace asked, I sighed before putting on a fake ass smile
"Just out with someone from school" I replied, Before of them could object or say anything else my ass was out of that door, only to see Riley sat on the doorstep next door
"Ready?" I asked grabbing her attention, She smiled and nodded 
"want me to drive?" She offered and I shook my head
"I'll drive" I replied walking over to my car followed by Riley
"You ready for a day to remember?" I asked and she chuckled 
"Sure James" She replied with her usual eye roll but this time a small smile played on her lips
