After speaking to Emily, I knew what I needed to do even if I know that both her and Eldon would disapprove. 
I can't string James along, this has only shown me that if something so little can get to me, he deserves more.
This is about to be the hardest thing I've ever had to do

"Thankyou for meeting me" I said to James as we met at the park
He looked at me a little confused, I refused to meet at the pond. I didn't want any bad memories to taint the incredible ones we had created there
"What's going on Ri" He asked taking a step closer to me only causing me to take two steps back
"Look, I'm really sorry James" I said making him look at me even more confused
"I'm not what you want, you deserve so much more" I replied making his gaze shift to worry
"Babe, you're scaring me. What are you on about?" He asked 

"I'm setting you free" I replied
"setting me free?" He asked and I nodded trying to hide the tears
"What are you talking about Ri?" He asked
"I'm not the person for you. I can't be the person you need or deserve so I'm letting you go. Go find that Epic Love of yours James" I said completely breaking my heart
"Riley no, don't do this. Whatever I've done I'm sorry" James said only breaking both of our hearts further
"It wasn't you James, it's me. I'm the problem. I always have been" I replied about to walk away
"Please Riley, talk to me. Let me help" He asked grabbing my arm stopping me from passing
"I'm sorry" I replied shaking out of his grip and walking away
In the long run, this would be the best thing for him.
This way neither of us were too attached to be completely hurt by the situation right?

I didn't want to be here today, trust me this was the last place I wanted to be but my mother as much of a pleasure she is. Forced me to come
"Yo man!" West said bro fiving me as I walked over, I glanced over at Riley's locker to see her stood there
I want to go over there and beg for her to talk to me, for me to make this right.. But I know that would be the last thing she would be comfortable with
"Hey" Eldon said, I looked at him and he glanced back at Riley before looking at me and I shook my head
"She didn't" He whispered but I nodded
"Let me talk to her?" He offered and I shook my head
"Just leave her to it" I replied
The last thing I want is Eldon to go harassing Riley over her decision, there was reason behind it whether any of us understand it or not

"So are we all going to Michelle's Party tonight?" Hunter said with his usual smirk at lunch
I glanced over the courtyard to see Riley talking to Eldon while the boys and I sat here talking about the upcoming weekend antics
"Maybe we can persuade Eldon to bring his little sister" Hunter growled 
"No, she won't be coming" I replied confidently. Riley wouldn't step foot in that place
"Oh yeah, her boyfriend" Daniel said and I shook my head
"Nah they broke up" I replied and all the boys furrowed their eyebrows at me
"How do you know all of this?" Hunter asked
"I have Social with Riley, she was talking to one of the girls and I overheard" I said emotionlessly, I glanced over to see Eldon now heading over to us 

"So she's single" Hunter smirked and before I could say anything Eldon snapped at him for me
"hunter, single or not. You step foot anywhere near her and I'll cut your dick off" Eldon said slamming his hands on the table
"How is she?" West asked
As much as the boys are dicks. They care sometimes, even about people they barely know
"She's on a path of distraction. Breaking up with that guy was just her first step. She's going to slowly cut everyone off again" Eldon said making eye contact with me
"Again?" I asked and he nodded
"this isn't the first time Riley has shut down, the ending is never pretty" He warned me
Riley.. What are you doing..
