"I'll be right back" I said to the boys making sure to check Riley was still preoccupied. West constant energy is coming in handy for once of his life.
The boys all nodded watching as I walked away
I headed straight over to the gate before grabbing his shoulder pushing him back out making him look at me confused
"What the fuck are you doing here Connor" I growled making him smirk as soon as his footing has stabilised
He looked at me stepping close again but as soon as he was too close I instantly pushed him back earning nothing more then a stupid chuckle
"what's wrong James? Scared I'm going to steal your little lady?" He asked making my eyes darken. Talking about Riley was what caused the last fight and I'm pretty certain if he continues it'll lead to another one
"Shut up" I spat earning another laugh from him
"Truth be told if I had even a minute of her time. She'd never bat an eye lid at you again" He said making me step forward
I was about ready to start throwing punches again already
"James?" Her soft voice said making me close my eyes before looking over my shoulder to see Riley stood there with the boys shortly behind her
"look who came to the party" Connor smirked, I looked back at Connor before hearing someone else talk again
"Riley I think we need to get you out of here" Eldon warned her but let's be honest. Riley isn't going to listen
"No let her stay" Connor said stepping forward in Riley's direction. I took one step left to stop him getting any closer to her
"James what is going on?" Riley asked and trust me I wanted to give her an answer but I knew the second I took my eyes off of this prick. He'd pounce
"Yeah James, What's going on" Connor smirked making me narrow my eyes at him
"Walk away" I warned
"Or what" He asked taking a step closer
"Walk away" I repeated before feeling Riley's hand intertwine with mine
"Oh she is a loyal one isn't she James" Connor said
"Tell me Riley, how well does James know you?" Connor asked looking at Riley
"Better yet, how well do you know James" He smirked and Riley stood her ground holding my hand tightly
"Better yet why is it any of your business?" Riley asked. I didn't want her to antagonise him, the secrets he hold could be the difference between us staying together and us walking away
"James here made it my business the second he showed any interest in your direction" Connor smirked at Riley before turning back to me
"Well I'm telling you that it isn't any of your business so just get lost" Riley said making Connor laugh
He took another step in her direction causing me to push her behind me
"You can't protect her forever James" He said looking down at me
"Fucking watch me" I spat at him
"Give it time, she'll be on her own" He smirked about to walk away
"I'll be waiting Riley" He chuckled finally crossing the road heading away from all of us
I was quick to turn around motioning the boys to leave, it was just Ri and I here
"What is going on?" She asked tears almost brimming her eyes
"Look Ri, I'm sorry okay" I said cupping her face
"No James what is he talking about?" She asked, I didn't want to put this on her
"it's nothing I can't handle Riley" I said and she shook her head placing her hands on top of mine
"Talk to me James. You can't just let that unfold and then shut me out" She whispered looking up at me
"This shouldn't be your problem" I whispered placing my head on hers
"It isn't my problem James. It's our problem" She said with her big brown eyes glistening as they looked at me
"Let me in" She whispered, I continued to get lost in her eyes
I knew that if it had been anyone else, this would never even be an option
"okay" I whispered leaning forward pressing our lips together
