24 days.
That's how long it took for Jennie and Lisa to fall in love.
24 days in December.
Moving into this house had been a very quick and neat affair, Jennie thought when she looked around their new living room. Her daughter Ella was already lounging around the sofa, watching something on the big TV. Everything had been set up perfectly by the very charming guys from the moving company.
Jennie still wasn't used to the comfort all this money could buy. The last time she moved, she had to do it all herself. Herself, a crappy car, her two best friend's crappy car and a small kid on her arm who was complaining nonstop.
Jisoo and Rosie almost broke up during an intense fight while putting together Ella's Ikea kiddie bed. Jennie was glad that, this time around, she didn't have to put her friend's marriage at risk.
The dark haired woman looked around proudly.
"What do you think Ella? This is all ours now. No more stupid rent. No more crappy apartments with sketchy neighbours! We own this house!" Jennie beamed.
"Yeah, so cool Mom...." Ella waved her off, much more interested in the TV than in entertaining Jennie right now.
"What are you watching?"
"Sabrina." Came the short answer.
Jennie scrunched her eyebrows together. "Isn't that too dark and creepy?"
"Mom!" Ella whined like a proper pre-teen. "I'm thirteen! I can handle it."
"K, fine, don't come crawling in my new huge ass bed at night when you're scared." Jennie smirked at her daughter teasingly. Ella's eyes went up to meet her mother's.
"I won't. I have my own new huge ass bed!" She grinned happily and with that Jennie knew that from now on things would get easier.
"Hey missy! Don't say ass in front of me!" Jennie scolded playfully.
"You said it first." Ella countered and stuck her tongue out cheekily. Jennie did the same, making them both laugh.
"You're such a grown up, Mom." the thirteen year old giggled teasingly.
"I know right? And now I'm gonna do what grown ups do. Go to my kitchen, get the hugest glass of wine that I can find and call Jisoo."
"Hugest is not a word."
"Is so!"
"Is not."
Jennie smiled and made her way over to Ella to kiss her forehead.
"I love you El."
"Love you too Mom."
Jennie trailed her fingers through her daughter's dark hair before she turned around to leave the living room.
