Authors narrative;

It's night, and Muyiwa is in his bedroom, staring at the ceiling. His mother, father, and little sister are all in the living room, getting ready for dinner.

Muyiwa's mother can't move him out of the room, so until he gets better, he's trapped within the confines of his room.

His mother was just placing the hot plate of eba and egusi before his father when there's an arrogant knock on their front door.

"Who is it? "His mother questions and the knock comes again. From the way the person is knocking, it's clear the person has no manners, as it seems like the person intends to break down the door.

Muyiwa's mother walks up to the door and opens it in hopes to see the arrogant person who wants to break down her door.

"Hello... "She makes to greet, and a younger-looking woman with two hefty boys push past her and walk into the house.

The woman is dressed in a beautiful adire top and wrapper. She had her ankles, waist, neck, wrist, and hair, decorated in beautiful beads, and she looks rich and well taken care of.

The boys behind her look a lot like her and share a striking resemblance to Muyiwa's father. Mr. Abiodun.

The boys look well feed, fleshy and healthy. These all make Abimbola - Muyiwas mother, ponder on her good, old days. Days when her husband still loved her and treated her like a queen.

She lacked nothing and was envied by almost every woman around.

"Oh, so this is the place, and this is the woman? I thought you said you have cut them off! "The woman yells at Abiodun, and Abimbola stares at her husband, confused.

"Sorry, who are you, and how may I help you? "Abimbola questions the woman, and the woman stares at her like she's some piece of trash picked up from the gutters.

"I'm your ex-husband's wife! "The young woman replies, and Abimbola stares between this strange woman and her husband in confusion.

"Ex-husband? What are you saying? I only have one husband, and that's him. "Abimbola explains, and the woman explodes with mocking laughter.

"Look at you. How clueless can you be? See, this man you're looking at is no longer married to you. This thing you call a marriage died many years back, and you're just going up and down claiming to be what you're not. "The woman begins, and Abimbola squeezes her brows in confusion.

"Look, this is Ayobami, and this is Olakunle. They are your ex-husband, Abioduns sons. Their younger sister, Opemiposi, is at home.

Ayobami is 18 years of age. And you have been married to your husband for about twenty-three years.

Can you now calculate how old your marriage was when your husband and I made our first child, and how long ago your marriage died? "The woman says, and Abimbola staggers as she looks at her husband.

She rushes over to him and falls to her knees while holding his legs. It's one thing to be maltreated by her husband, but it's another thing to lose him to another woman.

She'd be an instrument of mockery in the village. Her children won't have a father figure, she'd have to carry the family by herself, and she'd be a lonely, and miserable woman... These were the thoughts running through Abimbolas mind as she began to cry at her husband's feet.

"Biodun, please... Please tell me this is a lie. Please tell me that you don't know this woman... What...what is she saying? "Abimobla begins to cry, and Abiodun shakes her hands off his legs, rudely.

"Simi, what are you doing here? I thought you told me you won't come here? "Abiodun says to the strange woman, and Abimbola dies a million deaths on the spot.

"Forget that, Abiodun. I have come to take you home. It's high time you do away with these people. Your family needs you. "The woman replies, and Abimbola stares at them in shock.

Her husband and the strange woman argue a bit about her coming here but after a few seconds;

"fine. Let me pack my things. "Abiodun replies, and Muyiwa's heart skips a beat in his room.

He had been listening to everything from the very beginning, but couldn't move, despite how much he wanted to.

He listens to his father walk towards his room, and his mother watches as her husband walks into their matrimonial room.

After a few seconds, he comes back out with a bag filled with clothes and some other things.

Abimbola tried her best to beg her husband not to leave, but her persistence and begging earns her a slap from Abiodun.

Abiodun is about to step out of the house when his little daughter... Motilayo, who is just about the same age as his other daughter, Opemiposi, questions;

"Daddy, where are you going? "

Abiodun turns back and finds his little girl trembling in a corner with her doll in her hands and tears in her eyes.

She seems to understand that he's leaving them and may not be coming back any time soon. Her little voice is shaky and there's no trace of happiness or childish glee in her voice.

She sounds broken and scared.

"I'm going out, dear. "Abiodun replies. He may be a horrible man, but some part of him seems to care about his little girl.

"Will you come back? "She questions and a tear escapes her eyes.

One would think that this innocent pain would melt Abioduns stony heart, but it seems Simi has tied him to her thanks to some powerful juju as he just turns his back to his little girl, and walks out of the house.

"Daddy! Daddy! "Mitolayo scream while still standing at a spot as she's too scared to follow him.

"Oh, stop screaming. Your father is not coming back. He has a much prettier daughter waiting for him at home. "Simi replies before walking out of the house with her two sons, and slamming the door shut.

"Mummy... Is daddy coming back? "Motilayo questions her mother, and for the first time in Motilayo's life, she watches her mother snap.

"No! He's not coming back! And you don't need him. Stop crying! If you continue crying, I will send you off with that horrible woman! "

Motilayo shakes in fear of her mother's reaction and runs into Muyiwa's room.

Abimbola cries to her heart's content. She never thought a day like this would come. She had ridiculed herself so much in the arms of that man, with the hopes that one day, he'd come back to his sense and apologize for all he has done wrong, but she was wrong.

His sins kept getting darker and thicker. For all these years, he has had another family and kept it away from her. Two sons and one daughter!

The shameless man! All the love Abimbola felt for her husband began to turn to destructive anger, as she swore that very night to make him pay for all he has done to her and her children.

For making them feel like they are nothing in the world.
The night's full moon is a witness to her promise.

That man will pay. Severely for all he has done.
