It was lunch time and you sneaked out of the classroom, so that your 'friends' wouldn't ask where you're going. You and Oikawa decided to walk up the roof, because nobody would be there. Once you arrived, you packed out your lunch. You made sure to pack up more than usual, so that Oikawa would be able to eat as well.
"Holding your homework in my hands is really tiring, you know?"
"I'm grateful for that, but you didn't have to do it... I hope that didn't sound mean or anything."

Sometimes talking was really hard for you. You just didn't seem to be able to find the right words and your tone would always be inappropriate for the current situation, without you wanting it to be.

Oikawa pouted and looked away from you like a child.
"Actions speak louder than words! If you would have been grateful, you wouldn't have taken away your pencils and notebooks out of my hands!"
"You were messing up my notebooks! Some students and the teacher kept looking at me from time to time. Who knows what they were thinking about me! And afterwards I gave up anyway, letting you do what you wanted to!"

Oikawa's demeanor changed back to serious.
"You seem to care a lot about what others think of you."

At that you looked away from him and it was hard for him to read your face.
"Eat up. Lunch is going to be over soon."

After lunch, your friends were trying to explain to your english teacher why they didn't have their homework with them. You would be lying if you would have said that you didn't enjoy it. Oikawa seemed to enjoy it too, as he chuckled lightly. Your class was loud again and you used that opportunity to cover your mouth with you hands.
"Thanks again, Oikawa."

He picked up on your words and gave you another thumbs up.
"You're very welcome, (y/n)-chan."

The lesson was very boring and you were having a hard time to concentrate. Mainly because of Oikawa who was either doodling some weird things in your notebook or because he was talking to you. After you failed to ignore him, you communicated with him by using your notebook. You even began to play Tic Tac Toe with him.

One of your so called friends however, asked what you were doing and eyed your notebook. Internally, you panicked and closed it immediately. Oikawa burst out laughing and took the notebook.
"Don't worry puppet-chan, I got it."

"Nothing."
"Huh? Weren't you just writing something?"
"No".

With that you turned away from her and stared at Oikawa with slightly furrowed eyebrows.

The next lesson was a math lesson and currently, the teacher was handing out a test to every student. He didn't announce the test and now you regret that you didn't pay attention in his last lesson.
You read the questions over and over again but you were at a complete lost.

Oikawa noticed that you were struggling and took your pencil out of your hand. His hand brushed against yours and he was leaning very close to you, so that he could read the questions. Your shoulders were touching and you couldn't move away from him, as it would attract attention. Oikawa on the other hand, didn't seem to mind and he was focused on the test. He started to write down some answers and after a while he started to struggle as well.
"Let me check if the teacher has a cheat sheet."

Looking around the teacher's desk, he found what he was looking for and came back.
"Alright I got this, (y/n)-chan! Leave it to me!"

The time was up and every question on your sheet was answered. The class got louder again and you were able to quietly talk to Oikawa.
"Thank you, really! I definitely owe you a big one!"

At that, Oikawa smirked.
"You can make it up by buying me some milkbread after school."

You nodded lightly and gave him a small smile. You two were interrupted when one of your 'friends' asked how you did.
"Why are even asking her? She's going to have a good grade anyway, regardless of what she says."

They continued to talk poorly about you. You on the other hand didn't bother to talk back. You were used to it and no matter what you said, they would only consider you as a weirdo anyway.

Oikawa on the other hand stood up and took one of the girls pencile. He walked away from you and threw the pencile on one of the girl's head. First, you were suprised, but then you were trying to stifle your laugh.
"Ouch! Where did that come from!?"
"Hey that's my pencil!"
"Did you just threw that at me!?"
"What!? No! Are you dumb!?"

Instead of talking badly about you, they were now insulting each other. Normally, you absolutely hated school, but today, you were having very much fun.

Oikawa got back to the seat next to you and smiled.
"I didn't think that it would escalate so quickly."

In response you gave him a genuine and warm smile. It caught Oikawa off guard and he blushed very lightly, feeling something warm inside of him. Maybe being your invisible friend wasn't such a bad thing at all.
