Before you even realized, it was dark outside already. Oikawa and Iwaizumi insisted on walking you home. You tried to tell them that you could manage going home alone and that it wasn't necessary, but they refused to let you go alone. Apperently, their homes were pretty near yours. When you arrived at the front door of your flat, Oikawa asked for your number. He said that it was for school purposes, but of course that was not the truth. Iwaizumi, Oikawa and you exchanged numbers and you said goodbye to them. You didn't expect your first day at Aoba Johsai to be this nice.

The next morning, Oikawa was standing in front of your flat, which took you by surprise.
He greeted you cheerfully and waved his hand. "Good morning, (y/n)-chan! Are you ready to leave?"

Iwaizumi wasn't with him and you tried to figure out what he would want from you.
"Oikawa? What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to walk to school with you."
"Why?"

Oikawa looked a little confused. "Because we're friends now?"
It took a moment for you to understand what he had said. You were friends? It is true that you had fun yesterday and that they were really nice to you, but it was only because of the group project. Wasn't it? In any case, you couldn't help but feel a little bit happy about that statement.

As soon as you both arrived at school, a group of girls walked towards Oikawa. And again, they pushed you away from him and you could't help but get angry. What was their problem? Their squeals made you cringe and furrow your eyebrows. Your thoughts were interrupted by Iwaizumi's voice.
"I know. That's how I always feel too when this happens. Unfortunately, you don't get used to it."
You chuckled lightly and greeted him. He asked whether you and Oikawa came to school together and offered to go to the classroom without Oikawa. You gladly accepted, not wanting to get a headache from all the noise that came from the group of girls.
When Oikawa came into the classroom after you, he told you how mean you guys were for just leaving him behind.

After school you followed Iwaizumi and Oikawa to the volleyball club. They had told their coach that you would come. You were nervous and told yourself not to do anything embarrassing. Oikawa noticed your distress and told you not to worry, which surprised you, as you thought that you did a good job in hiding your feelings.

When you entered, the coach gathered everyone together and everyone was starring at you after he told them that you might apply for the position for manager.
Before Oikawa could think, he placed a hand on your shoulder to reassure you. Back in your world, he used to do it a lot, but right know, he was almost a stranger to you. He thought of removing his hand, but he missed those moments between you two. You on the other hand tensed a little under his touch at first. But then you oddly relaxed and you didn't seem to mind it that much, which you thought was a little weird.
Oikawa tried to act natural and spoke up to redirect everyone's attention to him.
"Alright, everyone! This is (y/n)-chan!"
Oikawa then continued to introduce everyone to you and it was just like he and iwaizumi had said. Everyone was really nice and after a while you felt yourself relax and enjoy your time with them.

You watched as the boys played volleyball and the coach would explain the rules to you. You watched the team play and you were absolutely impressed. You were so focused on the game that you didn't even realize how fast the time had passed. You had to admit that Oikawa's play was flawless. You enjoyed watching him and even admired him. He must have trained a lot to become this good. Or maybe he was a natural talent? Iwaizumi was doing pretty good too and sometimes you could feel yourself get all excited because of the match.

Practice had ended and everyone was heading to the dressing rooms to get changed. Oikawa walked towards you and asked what you thought of today's practice. He was sweaty and he tried to push his hair out of his face.
You smiled a little. "First, you should get changed. I'll wait outside. I'll tell you how it was on the way back home."

Oikawa's heart was fluttering. He had to suppress the urge to place his hand on top of your head. He had been afraid that walking you to school this morning might come off as weird, but you had seemed to take it pretty well. However, he didn't expect you to be the one to offer to walk back home together.
"Give me two minutes! I'll be right there!"
Oikawa rushed to the dressing room and made you chuckle. Maybe he wasn't as bad as you had believed. You probably misjudged him and you felt a little guilty for doing so.

Oikawa and Iwaizumi were walking out of the dressing room together and they spotted you, waiting for them. They were making their way toward you, but a few girls stopped in front of Oikawa again to compliment him. Iwaizumi didn't stop walking and made his way to you, because he knew that it would take some time for Oikawa to come.
However, Iwaizumi didn't expect Oikawa to react this way.
"I'm sorry girls, I don't have time for this. I have to go."

Iwaizumi was shocked to hear those words and he turned around to see that Oikawa's expression was rather neutral. He wasn't even looking at the girls he was pushing through. Was he sick or something? There had to be something terribly wrong with him.
He didn't look at Iwaizumi when he passed him. When his eyes met yours, his gaze softened and he smiled genuinely. Iwaizumi was so shocked that he didn't move from his spot.
"Iwaizumi, is something wrong? Are you coming?" You seemed to be unbothered by Oikawa's actions.

Iwaizumi's suspicions were correct. Oikawa was definitely in love with you.
"There's something I have to take care of. You and Oikawa can go ahead."
"Alright then. See you tomorrow." You waved him goodbye and continued to walk home with Oikawa.

"So, how was it? Did you like it? Will you become manager?"
"It was awesome! To be honest, I didn't think that I would enjoy it this much. But even though I did enjoy it, I don't know if I am ready to become manager." You expression revealed doubt.
"You're worried that you might not be a good manager, am I right?"
Your expression confirmed Oikawa's suspicion. He stopped walking and turned in your direction, so he could face you fully.
"You're more than capable to be the manager, (y/n)-chan. Stop doubting your own abilities. Everyone on the team liked you and everyone would be more than happy if you took the position. Nobody's expecting you to be perfect and if you should need help, I will help you, as many times as you need."

Oikawa's reaction made you feel something weird inside of you. Why was he so supporting and nice to you? He looked absolutely serious and you oddly felt reassured. You couldn't help but smile.
"In that case, I'll gladly be the volleyball team's manager."

Your response made Oikawa smile too. Instinctively, he put a hand on your head. And again, he didn't want to draw away.
"Don't think I didn't notice you starring at me the whole time in practice."
Oikawa's smile had turned into a teasing one and he slightly leaned closer to your face.

You smacked him on the forehead to create some space between you two and your eyebrows furrowed.
"Of course I was watching you. Wasn't that the whole point of me coming to practice today?"

Oikawa held his forehead and his heart fluttered. A smile crept on his face and his gaze softened.

You walked ahead of Oikawa and glanced back. "Are you coming?"
Oikawa caught up with you and continued to walk beside you. "All jokes aside, how do you think I was? Regarding that you were starring with your mouth open, I would say I left you speechless."

Oikawa was smiling mockingly while you lightly punched his arm. "I was NOT starring with my mouth open! But to be honest, you really impressed me. Iwaizumi and everyone else were really good too though! I will have to give everything I got as a manager too!"
