As promised, you and Oikawa went to the bakery to buy some milkbread. You went to the park and fortunately it was empty. Seeing Oikawa happily eat his milkbread made you smile.
"You seem to really like milkbread."
"Mmhhm. It's my favorite food actually."

Him saying that made you realize that you didn't know anything about him. Even though he talked a lot to you, you still didn't know anything about his personal life.
"Tell me more about you."

Oikawa turned to the side to look at you.
"What do you want to know?"
"I don't know. Uhh... Do you have any hobbies?"

Oikawa smirked at that question proudly.
"I play Volleyball. What about you? What are your hobbies?"

You hesitated before you answered.
"Most of the time I watch Anime or play video games. Whenever I tell that somebody, they say that it's not a real hobby."
"Aren't you interested in anything else? Or isn't there something that you always wanted to try out?"
"I don't know. Sometimes I get the desire to try out something new, but I eventually lose interest in it before I even start. And it may sound weird, but the idea of trying out something new makes me feel anxious."
"I think it's because you don't like being around people and because you overthink about what other people might think of you."

Oikawa's response made your eyes widen out of suprise. Oikawa on the other hand, started to smile almost excitedly.
"You know what? Let's go play volleyball today. We can drop by your house and you can change into more fitting clothes."
"Huh? I don't know how to play though."
"It's fine! I'll teach you (y/n)-chan."

Excitement started to bubble up inside of you and you were actually looking forward to it.

When you both arrived at home, you greeted your parents and let them know that you would be going outside. You also packed some water and snacks. You gave Oikawa your brother's clothes, so he could also change into fitting clothes.

When you arrived at your destination, it was empty as always. Oikawa taught you some basics like how you should position your hands and how you should stand. His hands were resting on your arms and he pushed them closer together.
"When receiving, you have to press your arms a little bit more together and you have to crouch down a little bit more."

When he was done, he took some steps away from you and set the ball to you. The ball was perfectly set and you had no trouble in receiving it. However, you weren't able to sent the ball back to him as precisely as he did. Oikawa didn't seem to bother though as he again received it effortlessly.

Oikawa and you played Volleyball until you both were exhausted. You both sat down and and you handed Oikawa a few snacks and a water bottle.
"And? How was it? Did you enjoy playing?"

Oikawa was looking at you expectantly.
"It's been a long time since I had this much fun to be honest. Though I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case for you."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Even though you tossed them to me perfectly, I kept missing sometimes and my tosses were really imprecise."
"Well, what did you expect? You never played volleyball before. I trained a lot to be able to play like this. And I still had a lot of fun playing with you too, you know!"

Oikawa's expression changed into a troubled one. He missed his family and his friends. And most of all, he missed playing volleyball with his team.
"I just hope that I will be able to go back to my normal life as soon as possible."

You felt sorry for him. You wanted to help him, but you had no idea how.
"If there was anything I could do to help you, I-"
"I know, (y/n)-chan. You wouldn't hesitate to help me."

Seeing Oikawa genuinely smile at you, made you smile as well.
"We should get going. My parents are going to be angry if I arrive late."

You stood up and offered Oikawa a hand. He looked at your hand first, but then accepted it, letting you pull him up.

When you arrived at home, you and Oikawa watched fruits basket together. Whenever a sad backstory would be shown, Oikawa's and your eyes were filled with tears. Even though you looked just as silly as Oikawa did, you couldn't help but laugh at his appearance.
"What are you laughing at, (y/n)-chan!? Have you even seen yourself?"

His comment made you laugh even harder.
"Sorry, you just looked so adorable in that moment."

Oikawa pouted and blushed lightly at your response.

It got late and you and Oikawa went sleeping. He was sleeping in the living room and you were in a deep slumber in your own bed. Your father wasn't able to sleep so he went to the living room to watch some TV again.
"You're kidding me."

Oikawa talked to himself, knowing that (y/n)'s father couldn't hear him. Last time, he couldn't get any sleep at all because of him. All he wanted was to sleep peacefully. He got up from the couch and made his way to your room. He hesitated for a moment before he opened the door to your room. You didn't seem to notice him coming in. Oikawa walked to your sleeping figure and shook you lightly.
"Hey. (Y/n)-chan. Hey!"

You started mumbling quietly and whispered back to him.
"What is it?"

Oikawa's face was really close to yours, because it was hard to recognize anything in the dark.
"Can I- Uhmm.. sleep in your room today? Your father is in the living room and he is watching TV right now."

You weren't able to think clearly, because you were still half-asleep.
"You can sleep on the ground."
"Huh!? Can't I... you know... uhhhh, nevermind."

He lay down on the ground without any blanket or any pillow. And that was it. Oikawa had enough. He stood up again and walked next to you.
"(Y/n)-chan! Let me sleep next to you."

Oikawa was blushing, but luckily it was dark, so you wouldn't be able to tell.
"What?"
"I can't sleep on the ground! Saying that it is uncomfortable is an understatement!"

Still not being able to fully process what was going on, you groaned, but moved to the edge of your bed to make space for Oikawa.
"Get in." You mumbled while holding the blanket up for him, so he could crawl into your bed.

Oikawa did as you said and quietly mumbled "Thank you."
"Mmhhm."

Oikawa was facing the opposite direction and he was trying not to blush. However, being extremely tired, he fell asleep quickly.
