[3] Hot head on ice

Y/N started to get tired of just going around the rink and wanted to practice a few moves, first she did a salchow perfectly landing it and ended it with a scratch spin. She had her left leg sticking out as she spun and slowly crossed her leg having the back of her foot on her knee causing her the spins to go faster, then lowering her foot causing her to slow down. Once Y/N slowed down enough she did a half turn backwards. Once she finished she turned to see the group staring at her.

"No way dude, that was sick" Hawk complimented

"Thanks" Y/N smiled turning a pink color from embarrassment

"Can you do a kick or something?"

"Hmmm, I think..." Y/N thought about what she can do and thought of something. She skated backwards the did a back camel spin but only did one spin. She had a lot of momentum so Y/N wobbled a bit when she tried to get back up. "It's the best I can do, it's usually more spins than that" Y/N awkwardly smiled

"That was cool man" Hawk complimented skating towards Y/N "can you teach me ho-" a man roughly bumped into hawks shoulder cutting him off.

"Hey! Watch it man" Hawk exclaimed starting to skate towards the guy. Y/N quickly went in front of Hawk trying to stop him

"Ignore him, it's not worth it" Y/N said grabbing his hand

"I'm not gonna let this a*shole push me like that"

"look I'm sorry but fighting isn't worth it especially not with a stranger"

"But your picking up a fight with me and I barley know you"

"I'm not trying to fight you, I'm trying to stop something bad before it happens." Y/N slowly stops and puts her hands on Hawks shoulder facing him. "How about we get lunch and all this will blow away. Miguel lost the race so he has to pay"

"Fine..." Hawk gave up and skated towards the group.

"There's a diner upstairs over there" Y/N said pointing at it. "There's heating in there and we can use my membership card to cheapen the price"

"Yea sounds good" Miguel smiled

Everyone got out the rink. Y/N went into the locker room and changed back into her shoes while everyone else turns in the rentals. Once everyone finished they went upstairs to the diner and walked in. They chose a booth that fit 8 people and sat down. On the left was Miguel, tori, and Mitch. And on the right was Y/N, Hawk, and Aisha. Everyone got the same thing, a cheeseburger with fries and a drink. "So, Y/N. You were really good out there. Have you skated before?" Mitch asked

"No, I haven't" y/n shrugged

"Wait really?" Miguel asked

"What, no" Y/N laughed "I've been skating for years now"

"Oh, well, have you done any other sports?"

"Yea, when I moved to Chicago a few years ago I had a hard time finding what activities I liked" Y/N admitted

"What kinda of sports have you done?" Aisha asked

"Well, I've done Ice skating, Cheer, Gymnastics, Dance, Ballet. Mainly performing sports"

"How long did you do them for?"

"Well, Cheer was for 3 years, Dance for 4, Ballet for 4, Gymnastics for half a year ,and Ice Skating for around 6. It would be 7 but I took a year break."

"Why did you take a break?" Miguel asked

"Well," Y/N started. "A lot of things were going on at the time, I just could t fit it in my schedule" this was a lie. The year break she took was because the her parents divorce. She didn't want her new friends to pity her so she decided to hide the truth. "Alright enough about me what do you guys do?" Y/N smiled

"We do karate" Aisha smiled

"Karate?" Y/N repeated "I don't think I've ever known someone who did karate"

"Glad to know we're the first" Miguel smiled.

"Have you guys done any competition?"

"Yea actually, we did one for the valley not that long ago"

"Yea, Miguel totally kicked a*s" Hawk smirked. The food came and everyone kept a conversation going as they ate. Y/N found out a lot about her new friends and is happy she was able to gain some so fast.

It was eventually time for everyone to go home but y/n was able to get everyone's socials before leaving. Once everyone left Y/N skated back home to her parents there. "Hey mom" Y/N greeted placing her bag down

"Hey sweetheart, we were able to get the bed you wanted. And Jimmy was able to paint your room f/c"

"Really?" Y/N asked excitedly

"Yep. How was your day?"

"It was a good, I made a few new friends"

"OoOoOh, what are their names?"

"Miguel, tori, Aisha, Mitch, and Hawk"

"Hawk?"

"Yea, I don't know if that's his real name or not. He also looked oddly familiar" Y/N commented

"Reminded you someone from Chicago?"

"No, just like someone I've seen? I may have just seen him somewhere on social media but skipped it or something"

"Oh, well we're going out at 7:30"

"Why?"

"We're meeting up with old friends"

"OoOoOo who?"

"It's a suprise"

"Fiiine" Y/N smiled "I'm gonna head upstairs to set up my closet"

"Alright, be ready by 7!"

"Okay!" Y/N exclaimed going upstairs.
