I couldn't believe my ears at all the things they told me. "So... you... kissed me? And now I have to cheat on you both around Jack? What on earth even happened to make it get this far," I groaned, burying my head in my hands. Just great, I get drunk one night, got kissed by one of them and woke up in the other's arms. I was never going to drink ever again. "Please tell me we at least succeeded?"
Chan handed me a glass of water while I was still sitting in the bed. "We did, but we still need to check in with Jisung how the research is going. Oh, and you told me something about them hypnotizing the people in town with a message? I'm gonna guess we'll be finding more about that one too on the drive." I nodded, finding my earpiece right next to me. I must have fallen asleep with it in.
"Min? Innie? You guys doing alright over there?" I could hear laughter from the other side. "I heard you had a great time alright," Seungmin joked, making me roll my eyes. "Please don't mention it, the only things I hear are worsening with the next, I don't wanna hear any more of it." Seungmin, slowly caught his breath again from laughing so hard. "No worries, we're all doing okay here. Hyunjin is asleep right now, turns out he ran the entire way after your conversation since he didn't seem too happy... Jeongin is asleep as well, tired from being on coms all night, and Jisung has been awake ever since deciphering the USB."
Hyunjin was mad? I looked over at the two guys in the room. "What happened with Hyunjin? Everything okay? Please tell me I didn't do anything else stupid," I groaned, but Chan quickly shook his head. "Don't worry, that wasn't on you. Hyunjin and I just had a disagreement," Chan wrote it off as nonchalantly, clearly not about to tell me more. "Anyways, I- I GOT IT," Jisung's voice towered over Seungmin's. "Hi Y/N, good to see you're still alive, but that's besides the point right now. I finally uncovered all of the data. They somehow had it all encrypted still, so it took a while."
My eyes widened. I waved my arm around, vaguely trying to tell the boys to put in their plugs too which they somehow understood. "Tell me everything, what is it!" Jisung grew silent, the other line as good as dead. "Jisung? Are you still there?" I asked after a while, growing worried. "You guys, everyone might be doomed," he eventually answered breathlessly. "Sung, what's going on?" I asked discontent.
"So... from what I can see so far, they're planning a huge event in only a couple of days from now on, in which they'll be releasing a video on the big screen that keeps people hypnotized forever. They'll be like zombies, but used as slaves... They lured everyone there and made it seem so great, when really they're just planning on using everyone!" I couldn't help but grew terrified. They were already being used, but after this there would be no way back. "There has to be a way to stop them!" I exclaimed, Minho lightly hitting my arm to tell me to be more quiet.
"I... I don't know. There is a lot of data in here about it, but it'd take quite the while to figure out. I'm not sure if we'd have enough time to both find out how to stop them and plan the entire thing." "Just try to do whatever you can, if we can help from here out tell us. In the meantime... we'll stay here and try to get more information out of them, maybe even warn everyone, or we... we could... overthrow the government?" I tried to joke, but it stayed more seriously quiet than I liked. "Wait, I was joking," I tried to reason, but Chan disagreed. "No no, you might actually be into something."
Oh great. Now we're overthrowing the government? You have got to be kidding me. "What part of joking did you not understand? How on earth are we supposed to do that?" Jisung's side of the line rustled. "So, let's do this. I'm writing everything down, plus the guys here are listening too. I may or may not have accidently woken them up," he laughed sheepishly, a slight hint of guilt audible.
"Angways, Jeongin could be on lookout after I hack all the camera's, Seungmin would be on coms to ensure everyone's safety and lead everyone together with Jeongin's instructions. Chan, Minho and Y/N would be distracting the guys while Hyunjin and I would mix together with the crowd. After figuring the part out on how to disable the hypnotizing ability and creating a video in which it's all explained I'd secretly pass it onto either of you three, who switches it. When they play that video, we'll all come together, get on stage and voila, convince everyone and create a new government."
"That sounds... quite well thought out actually, how much time did you spend planning this?" Minho questioned. "About 5 seconds, why?" Jisung answered nonchalantly, making me chuckle. "That's Jisung for you alright." "Don't tell him that too often, he's grinning like an idiot," Seungmin groaned, while you could actually hear him smack Jisung's head through the coms. That must have been painful, but I couldn't help but laugh.
"Glad to hear you're doing okay Y/N," Hyunjin's voice came through. My laughter disappeared, a rather unsettling feeling washing over me after hearing he and Chan had an argument. It didn't sit right with me, especially since Chan clearly wasn't going to tell me. Besides, Chan's gaze had turned for the worse as soon as he heard Hyunjin. "No worries. No clue what happened last night, but I got this," I chuckled, my eyes not smiling with it though.
