◦✿◦⸺DEMETRI HAD CONVINCED HAWK to come back to Miyagi-Do with a little help from Caspia. But honestly, it was mostly Demetri. He had been showing up for their practices and he and everyone else in Miyagi-Do had noticed that Sam and Caspia especially seemed more focused than ever. Caspia had taken her old Cobra Kai gi with her stitched in nickname and replaced the Cobra Kai logo with the Miyagi-Do one. She felt like she owed that much to Johnny.
About halfway through a day of practice, Sam and Caspia walked into the main dojo to grab their water bottles when Sam decided to break the silence. "Hey, I know we're both competing in the girl's league, but I just want to make sure we don't turn it into a competition between us or anything."
"No, yeah, of course. Oh, you know what we should do?" Sam raised her eyebrows, telling her to go on. "What if we aim for the final two? Just forget about winning the tournament, if we aim for the last two, Miyagi-Do wins no matter who wins the tournament, then it won't matter which one of us comes out on top."
"Then we can fight fairly at the end, just for fun." Sam said, loving the idea and adding on. "Yes! We should totally do that."
"If we do, we have to focus on Tory. She'll definitely be up there and will have to face one of us."
"I know her style, I know Cobra Kai. I could probably teach you some of the things I learned from Kreese in Tahiti." Sam scrunched her nose, worried that Caspia would have some bad trauma come up. "Are you sure? I know you don't like reliving that, I don't want to put you in a bad spot."
"Sam, it's fine. I don't like that I do it, but he taught me to take people's weaknesses into account and it's won me a tournament and stopped me from getting more hurt than I did. If it helps us beat that bitch, then I'm willing to teach you." Sam smiled and they did their little handshake that they had come up with a few days ago.
With Sam and Caspia being the only two girls, they've been having each other's backs more recently. They've been training together more, Sam's been teaching Caspia kata and Caspia's been teaching Sam how to use sai knives.
Caspia had to practice more with her bo staff, so her and Eli were going to train together. Sam was going to show Demetri how to use sai knives with her new found knowledge. Caspia and Hawk were sparring on the grass with bo staffs, when they were suddenly stopped by Daniel.
"Eli, Caspia." They stopped sparring and bowed to Daniel.
"I wanted Anthony to meet our resident red belt." Caspia smiled, still proud of her accomplishment. A kid around thirteen was next to Daniel and Caspia recognized him. "Anthony? He's your son, right sensei?"
"He is. He's joining Miyagi-Do."
"Well, it's good to have someone new around."
"Good to be around." Anthony said as he winked at Caspia. She couldn't help but let out a little laugh. "Aren't you twelve?"
"Fourteen."
"You're adorable, but I'm too old for you and I have a boyfriend." Caspia then looked at Daniel as she said, "Cute kid."
Daniel sent her a sarcastic, but also sorry smile before practically dragging Anthony away. Caspia heard Daniel say from afar. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't hit on my students."
Caspia couldn't help but laugh again and even Eli laughed. He was one to get jealous, but when Anthony failed at hitting on Caspia, it was just funny to everyone.
Once practice was over, Caspia grabbed her stuff and waited for her aunt out front. She saw a text from Miguel and was actually pretty happy since she hadn't been able to see him as much. Well, that wasn't entirely true, Caspia still went over to his house for dinner and saw him at school a lot, but they didn't do karate together.
She read the text and immediately furrowed her eyebrows. Johnny and Miguel's mom were dating. Caspia called him, needing to know this wasn't a prank. Miguel picked up and said, "Yeah, Cassy?"
"Are you messing with me?"
"What? With my mom and sensei? No, they're dating and now he's treating me differently at practice and they even want to have a family dinner tonight."
"Do you want me to go to defuse the tension?"
"No, I'm just going to power through. I mean, I want my mom to be happy, but this is a little weird."
"Well, if you need to talk or anything, let me know."
"I will. Thanks Cassy."
"No problem." Caspia then hung up the phone and let out a breath, still a little shocked that...that was happening. She never saw her best friend's mother and her old sensei dating. Caspia couldn't fathom what it was like for Miguel.

A little while after Daniel had gotten back, he had Anthony go home since apparently he paid someone to do the wax on, wax off technique. Before Caspia could head home, Daniel asked if she could stay later to learn a new technique.
July had stayed to watch a little bit of it since she was going to pick Caspia up and didn't see the point in leaving.
Caspia was being taught a special technique Daniel had learned in Okinawa. It was a special fighting technique to paralyze an opponent's limbs for just a few seconds. It took Caspia hours, but she refused to give up and Daniel was happy to keep teaching her until she gave up. But Caspia never did.
It took hours, and hours, but she finally got to the point where she mastered it. And July even got to see her niece in her natural habitat. Caspia was one of the few people Kreese, Daniel and Johnny all knew for a fact belonged in a dojo. She's been taught under all of them and they all knew she was an amazing fighter. The only problem is that she's really nice. The people in Cobra Kai fight dirty and Johnny might have her fight more aggressively, but Caspia would show mercy in a heartbeat. For the tournament, she had to unlearn that.
