◦✿◦⸺TODAY IS THE BIG day. The All Valley tournament. There was a deal that if Cobra Kai lost, they had to close down their dojo forever and if Eagle Fang or Miyagi-Do lost, they had to close down their dojo forever.
Sam and Caspia had been training like mad for months. Caspia's knee had gotten better and she was allowed to not wear her cloth brace for the tournament. Sam and Caspia had once goal and that was just to get to the qualifying so no matter what happened, they'd win.
From the entrance, everyone in Miyagi-Do heard the announcer give them an entrance. Once their dojo name was announced, Daniel started walking onto the floor first with everyone behind him in pairs of two. Caspia and Sam stayed next to each other and at the front. These two were staying joint at the hip throughout this whole thing. They were working together even though it was 1v1 competition. They were combining both their skills.
Cobra Kai was introduced right after and they came out the same way. There were a lot more Cobra Kais, but Caspia knew that she could beat every single one of them. Even Tory. Caspia didn't want to say it, but she was probably the most skilled person at the competition. No one was at her belt level and it can be assumed that no one has been taught three very different techniques of karate and is able to combine them all to become a better fighter.
Caspia couldn't help but look over at them and she noticed something extremely unsettling. Her father was one of the senseis.
Caspia clenched her fists with anger. Eli saw her fists and tried to take her hand so she would stop, but Caspia kept her fists closed together. She was way too angry to just let his go. Her father who's been absent her whole life shows up out of the blue and thinks he can waltz back into her life and when he continues to harass her and he joins the man who used to abuse her.
He's just a great father. Sarcasm, by the way.
Eagle Fang was the last dojo to come out. Johnny and Daniel obviously shot each other dirty looks, but Miguel and Caspia looked over at each other and nodded, silently telling each other that they got this.
Once the announcing was over, Miyagi-Do went over to their mat space where they were all stretching. Caspia and Sam were sitting on the ground stretching their legs while Caspia was explaining something that the other Miyagi-Dos couldn't help but eavesdrop on, but they had no idea what she was talking about. "Piper's unskilled, new and cocky so make her think she'll win, but then beat her. Lower her confidence. Tory's a little hard to read, but she acts on anger. As long as you stay calm and make her angrier and angrier, she should snap and mess up."
"What if you face her?"
"I'll use what Kreese taught me 'cause no one knows how to defend that." Sam nodded. She saw that Caspia's eyes kept darting to Cobra Kai. She too looked over and was still a little confused. "I know you hate them, but why such a harsh stare?"
"Terry Silver's my father." Sam's eyes went wide. That was the last person she was expecting.
"Seriously?" Caspia nodded her head. The two were silent for a few seconds until Sam spoke up. "Well, I know your dad's an asshole, so at least now you have a bigger motive."
"What?"
"We want to beat Cobra Kai because we don't want the dojo to close and we want to stick it to Tory and those other douchebags. Well, why don't you stick it to your dad too? Make him see what he missed out on."
Caspia smiled and nodded her head. "Alright."
Sam and Caspia did their little handshake once they got to their feet. Daniel then called everyone over. "Miyagi-Dos, bring it in."
Everyone lined up in front of Daniel as he began his inspiring speech. "Some of you have been here before, and for some of you, it's your first karate tournament. I still remember my first All Valley, where I stood here proudly with my sensei and where I faced down the bullies of Cobra Kai. Now getting her hasn't been easy. There have been some bumps in the road, to put it mildly. But remember what's at stake. If Cobra Kai wins, our dojo closes for good. We're not gonna let that happen, are we?"
"No, sensei!" Everyone replied simultaneously. "Of course not. Because we have something Cobra Kai doesn't, a reigning champion and Miyagi-Do. Let's get out there, and show Cobra Kai what we're made of."
The Miyagi-Dos cheered and clapped. "Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to begin our skills competition." They all heard the announcer say. There were a few Miyagi-Dos that were participating in it, those being Demetri, Sam, Chris, Caspia and Hawk. Although, Hawk had some people helping him for his skills.
First up was Demetri. He walked out onto the middle of the mat and he was going to be showcasing the kamas. He bowed and everyone went quiet. He spun around and sliced through the air with the kamas and he was actually doing quite well.
Right after him, one of the new Eagle Fang students that just so happened to be a girl was breaking boards. Chris was doing the same thing right after, but he added a little flare which was when he broke a stack of concrete plates. Cobra Kai was right after him and one of their newer students, Kenny, was also breaking boards.
Miguel was after them and he was just doing a simple karate routine. Caspia was right after and she was also doing something quiet simple. She had her bo staff in hand as she walked onto the mat. She began her routine, jabbing the air and spinning around the bo staff for a little while until her turn was finished.
So far, Miyagi-Do was in the lead and Eagle Fang right behind them and Cobra Kai in fifth, which is a good sign. Sam, Robby, Assface, Kyler, Tory and Eli still had to go. Sam was using sai daggers and she was doing a routine similar to Demetri's, but she was flipping the daggers in her hand more. Robby was doing a simple karate routine much like Miguel's, although he was adding back flips.
Assface was also using a bo staff, but it was nowhere near as good as Caspia's routine. Although she has been practicing a lot longer. Tory did a routine with a samurai sword and it was pretty good. Kyler was breaking boards, not shockingly. Caspia has come to notice that Kyler isn't actually that good of a fighter, he's just strong and fast, but he can't really do karate.
Now Eli's skills routine was something else. He too was breaking boards, but in a creative way. There were three people around him holding out boards, but Nathan was also holding one while he was sitting on Chris's shoulders. Eli punched and kicked the first three, breaking them without a struggle, but when it came to the higher one, he jumped up and just touched the board, not enough to break it. With disappointment, he bowed to the crowd and walked off the mat.
Caspia pulled him into a quick hug and gave him a small smile. "You still did really good."
Eli kissed her temple and they stood next to each other in the line of Miyagi-Dos. Eli was lucky however because he wasn't the only one that failed his routine. Assface fully threw his bo staff at the judges on accident and the new girl in Eagle Fang failed to break a board. Lucky in the fact he wasn't the only one a little embarrassed and unlucky in the fact that it was Eagle Fang who was messing up and that's the last thing they needed right now.
Cobra Kai ended up moving into first with Miyagi-Do right on their tail and sitting in second while Eagle Fang was all the way in sixth place. They were a little lucky considering that there were two dojos, Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do, that could win in order to shut down Cobra Kai, but Cobra Kai just has so many students that it was impossible to not have multiple people for everything.
