-Just A Coat-

"We can't have that"

[South Yokohama: Thirteen Years Ago]

The eleven year old girl followed behind her father as they walked to the creek. Her hands cradling a flower she had found on the way. The mans white coat billowed in the summer breeze, his voice talking lowly into his phone.

"Y/n" Her father spoke grabbing the little girls attention, looking up at his outstretched hand, with an excited smile she grabbed his larger hand.

"I have something to tell you, but you shouldn't tell mommy" He instructed making the girl tilt her head before she nodded at his order. Pulling her over to a bench they sat down next to each other, the sunsetting across the sky in broad orange and yellow hues.

"Have you ever wondered how I hold so much in this coat?" Her father asked with a small smile pulling out an umbrella from what was supposed to be a breast pocket. Y/n's jaw dropped as she watched him slip it back in. "You know, your mother is terribly scared of some things this world has to offer..." He sighed looking over at the interested eyes of his daughter.

"I have something called a gift" He admits confusing the little girl. "Just like my brother who uhm..." He shook his head a little.

"The point is, I was gifted the ability to expand any small space into a large one" He tells her watching the wonder register on her face.

"Maybe someday I can make you a coat of your own" He ruffled her hair gaining a giggle.

"Your mother is very afraid of gifted people, she doesn't even know of mine" He admitted, his hand laying on the girls cheek with a now blank face.

"If you manifest one..." He clenched her cheek a little making her wince "I don't know what we will do"

"No matter what, don't tell your mother" He insisted watching the girl nod nervously.

[Mori's Clinic: Ten Years Ago]

Y/n sat in the uncomfortable plastic chair clenching her skirt. Mori was writing something on a notepad, his white doctors coat resting on the chair he sat in. The fourteen year old scanned the small office, shelves lined two of the walls with various medical supplies and chemicals she didn't understand, a stack of books sat on the ground by a messy pile of papers. The sunlight that came in created a stuffy atmosphere in the small room. She had been given a dress from the man in front of her since he insisted she wear one.

Spinning around in his chair Mori watched her carefully looking over his office, her flimsy eyepatch loosely against her face. The pale pink dress was sleeveless ending around halfway down her calves, white embroidery detailing it.
