Chapter 5 The light shines (barely)

I suddenly wake up and remember my dream hearing my alarm on my phone go off so I grab my phone to shut off the alarm and see a news post about dangerous superhumans. I quickly got up and grabbed my bag and things to leave. I left my car and decided to go to a nearby diner to get something to eat and then leave to go back to my house to fix it up. I got into my car after eating and drove back to my house which is still slightly damaged from my encounter with the officer. I used my telekinesis to get wood and the tools out to build my house back together while I sat down on the front porch to relax. Soon enough the house was rebuilt but without power so I unlocked the house and went inside to lay down in my bed as I fell asleep. I had dreams come toward me again, a memory or something of a twin sister "when the time is right you'll find your missing half, your twin sister". I woke up in a sweat "who was that voice and what did they mean about a twin sister" I thought to myself. I felt my skin change to diamond but I couldn't turn it off so I grabbed my hoodie and went to go search for information on my supposed twin sister so I decided to check at the one place I thought I would never have to return to. My old childhood house. I opened the door and walked inside. It must've been condemned for years now because there were many rats inside this old place. I looked around and everything was the same as I left it minus the dead body of my mother and the body of my father. I found my dad's old bookshelf a notebook fell off when I picked it up and read the first page it read "I have successfully made my son a alpha mutant but his twin sister has died from her experiment she didn't last as long as he has" I flipped to the end and read the last page which read "my wife is a mutant who blanked my memory on my daughter who she put up for adoption so she would be safe from my experiments so I know what must be done today I shall end her and use her DNA for my experiments''. I quickly threw the notebook and got in my car to drive back home. The car ride was silent minus the crying. When I got home I found a girl collapsed on my porch. I scanned the girl and saw she was crying before she passed out. She was also bleeding so I picked her up and brought her inside to my living room couch then I sat her down on my couch so I could grab my first aid kit. I quickly put the kit down, grabbed the rubbing alcohol, and cleaned her wounds before bandaging them up with gauze and medical tape. I searched her mind for who and what she is, as I finished searching I found out that her name is Kay and that she is a mutant like me. I searched for more wounds when I came across a scar that is similar to mine. I touched the scar and started to tear up but I quickly buried those feelings. I gently lifted her with some telekinetic powers and lifted her into my guest room. I kept her up in the air as I left the room while my telekinesis changed her into clean clothes, laid her down on the bed, and tucked her in. I went down to my living room to figure out how she got that mark and how she seemed familiar to me "who is this girl, why is she here, and why is she so familiar" I thought to myself. I felt hidden memories but I don't have the key to unlock them but I wonder if the girl here is the key to unlocking them. I walked into my kitchen and started making eggs with toast and sausage for the "guest" I have. I made a plate for the new guest, grabbed her a glass of orange juice, then walked upstairs to set up a little table for her when she woke up so she had something to eat. I made sure she was nice and comfy before I headed out singing a song from my childhood and making the sound turn into light as I walked downstairs waiting for my guest to wake up.
