~🧸How to Raise a Child🧸~

It was a cold day in the Dark Cacao kingdom.

Dark Cacao was inside the castle with his small son, Dark Choco.

At this time, Dark Choco was only a small, little toddler.

Dark Cacao was not busy this particular day.
He planned to take the day spending time with his son.

His son never really caused problems for the caretakers.
He was usually a good little toddler.

Little did Dark Cacao know, today wouldn't be as easy as he thought.

Dark Cacao went to Dark Choco's room.
Dark Choco was playing with his little baby toys.

"Hello, son..." Dark Cacao carefully greeted.

Dark Choco looked up at Dark Cacao.
He began to sniffle.

"What's wrong?" Dark Cacao asked softly.

Dark Choco looked spooked.
He began to cry...

Dark Cacao noticed.
He felt embarrassed, even if nobody was around to see such a scene unfold.

Dark Choco was spooked by his own father because of his armor.

Dark Cacao didn't want his son to be afraid of him.
He rushed out of the room in order to quickly change into something else.

Dark Cacao heard that Dark Choco had stopped crying when he left, but Dark Choco began to cry again because he missed Dark Cacao.

Dark Cacao kept his crown on, and kept his sword on him.
Otherwise, he was wearing a modest, black robe.

Nobody was around in the corridors of the Dark Cacao Citadel, so Dark Cacao easily went back to the room without feeling embarrassment from being seen.

He walked back into the room.

"Hhhuhhh...? Dada?" Baby Dark Choco mumbled.

"Yes... Dada..." Dark Cacao nodded.

Dark Choco calmed down quickly, which soothed Dark Cacao's nerves.

Dark Choco waved his small arms at Dark Cacao.

Dark Cacao carefully held Dark Choco's little baby hands.
Dark Choco giggled.

Dark Cacao felt a small feeling of pride for his son.
This was his son... who would soon be able to be trained by him.

This would be the boy that would take his place once he was too old, or when it was best to.

For now, though, he was just a little toddler.

Dark Cacao was looking at his son.
Soon, he might get bored... or hungry... or something else...

Dark Cacao wondered what he could do with this small toddler.

As he was distracted in his thoughts, Dark Choco wandered over to his sword.

Dark Choco poked the soul jam on the sword.
Dark Cacao didn't realize yet, until he turned around.

"Ah, son, no..." Dark Cacao said.

The little cookie didn't listen at all.
He tried to lift the sword, even if it was way too large for him.

"Son, no. Do not touch Dada's sword," Dark Cacao said.

The toddler looked up at him and made a "Hmf" sound.

He tried harder to lift the sword.
Dark Cacao sighed quietly to himself.

Later in his life, he would bestow his sword to his son, when he became king...

Dark Cacao sneakily put his hand under the sword and lightly lifted it.

The toddler felt triumphant.
Dark Choco had lifted the sword all by himself.

Well, at least, Dark Choco thought he did.

Dark Cacao watched his son put down the sword and jump around happily.

Dark Cacao was happy that his son was happy.

The toddler stopped jumping.
Dark Choco yawned.

Dark Choco sat down and flopped over.
He fell asleep.

Dark Cacao stared.
He was surprised that a child could sleep that easily... yet again, he didn't exactly know a lot about children.

Sure, Dark Cacao had read books about how to treat and raise children, but he never had experience until Dark Choco's birth.

Either way, Dark Cacao would try his hardest.

Dark Cacao picked up his son and put him in his little bed.

He tucked him in and left the room.

I hope I am doing what is right for him.
He thought while walking down the corridor.
