"What?", Marzia asked getting nervous due to Zain's fixed gaze on her.

Zain kept starring at her while she was tugging up her walnut-colored locks in a bun,

"What?", he repeated.

She picked up the net veil and set it over her head, "I want to place the veil over my head but mama said I should place it over one shoulder", she stated looking at her reflection in the mirror and then turned towards the camera.

She adjusted it over her head and held it by her right hand so it does not slip. "What do you say Zain?",

"Obviously as you said, over the head", he replied.

"I knew it", she smiled and twirled in her nikkah dress.

"Will you keep starring or tell me how do I look?", She raised an eyebrow.

"Elegant, as usual", he replied.

She took out the cell phone from the stand and laid down on the bed, with her legs hanging and the cell phone holding over her face. She hugged a cushion tightly and kept looking at Zain silently.

"What happened?", Zain asked.

"Nothing", she said meekly and smiled, with her gaze unwavered.

"You took Amma Jan for shopping",

"Did she tell you?",

"Yep",

"Hmm", she nodded, "I am trying to connect with the family. You know how awkward it is for me to establish a connection but, it's working. Their unbelievably welcoming nature is like a breath of fresh air for a hopeless introvert like me",

"They are. Amma Jan can't stop praising you. Last night, she lectured me about wife's rights. Can you believe it?", a soft chuckle escaped his mouth.

"You should work on it instead of laughing", she said playfully.

"I already know how to take care of you. We have been friends for years",

"It makes sense",

"Last night something else too reminded me of you", he said.

"It did?",

"Yeah, a lot", he smiled with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Do you want to know what it was?".

"Sure",

"Cockroach",

"No way", her cheeks warmed up with an embarrassed blush.

"Believe me Marzia. But instead of negotiation, this one got pretty insulted",

"See, after all not everyone is as considerate as me", she chuckled.

"Hmm", he hummed. "Very considerate".

He laughed again but instead of laughing this time she was getting shy.

BOOM!

The phone fell from Marzia's hand on the bed and she quickly got up. Tabinda (Marzia's sister-in-law) looked at Marzia's terrified expression and burst into a fit of laughter.

"You scared me", Marzia exhale the breath she was holding.

"Marzia", Zain's muffled voice came.
Marzia picked up the cell phone.
