CHAPTER 9

Rod's POV
I woke up late today, around 9:30am cuz I can't sleep last night. I keep on thinking about Lizzy, the time that we had and the moment we shared together. Para akong nananaginip cuz I can't believe na nakakausap at nakakasama ko na siya ngayon. Nagpapasalamat talaga ako na nabangga ko siya noon while walking cuz if not, I'm pretty sure hanggang ngayon pabigay-bigay pa din ako ng rosas sa kanya ng patago. I'm still lying on my bed and I am currently thinking if what would be the message that I'm going to send to her. I was shocked cuz mom suddenly opened the door.

Mommy Emilia: Hey son! Get up, still on your pj's pa din? Anong oras na oh. Tsaka umagang-umaga cellphone agad hawak mo!

Rod: I have nothing to do naman mom eh (then sit on the bed)

Mommy Emilia: How was your final defense pala? Hindi ka na nagkwento kagabi eh. I was about to ask you pero I think pagod ka (then sit on the couch)

Rod: Okay naman mom. Pasado po ako (then smile)

Mommy Emilia: Really?! We should celebrate later! (Stood up then hugged Rod) Congrats son, I'm very proud of you.

Rod: Thank you mom (hugged his mom back)

Mommy Emilia: Wait, Anong oras ba natapos ang defense mo? Bakit late ka umuwi aber? Ikaw ha, kung kelan graduating kana saka ka natutong gumala (pulled out from the hug then gave Rod a death glare)

Rod: Nag-unwind Lang naman ako mom eh.

Mommy Emilia: With? Wag mong  sabihin na si Franky ang kasama mo, I called her yesterday.

Rod: With Lizzy mom (then smile)

My mom's eyes widen, that made me laugh. She hit my arm right away, nagulat ako doon so I placed my phone on the side table.

Mommy Emilia: Wait, what?! Lizzy? You mean Imee Chavez? The girl you've been giving roses for almost 3 years? Am I right?

Rod: Yes mom. Sino pa ba?! Eh siya lang naman ikinukwento ko sayo eh. Siya Lang naman yung gusto ko, wala ng iba.

Mommy Emilia: San kayo pumunta? Magkwento ka naman anak! Move, tatabi ako (then sit beside Rod)

Rod: Pati ba naman yun mom kailangan kong ikwento sayo? Wag na po besides hindi pa ako nag-agahan oh. (then stood up)

Mommy Emilia: Roderick! Upo. Ikwento mo sakin. I want to know, dali na anak tsaka kasalanan mo yan ano, anong oras ka na nagising eh.

Rod: Mommy naman eh, pwede akin nalang yun? You don't have to know about it.

Mommy Emilia: Anong you don't have to know ka jan, nanay mo ako. Tsaka lahat ng binibigay mong bulaklak, tanim ko noh! So I have the right to know about it. So magkukwento ka o magkukwento ka?

Rod: Oo na, Ito na po.

Mommy Emilia: Naman pala eh. So saan kayo pumunta?

Rod: We had lunch together then after that sinamahan ko siya sa bookstore.

Mommy Emilia: Oh tapos?

Rod: Mom?

Mommy Emilia: Hmm?

Rod: Do you remember the old lady na nakikita natin whenever we eat at the restau near the university?

Mommy Emilia: Y-yah, why?
