CHAPTER 61

Rod's POV
It's been a week since Imee and I went to Manila. Well, nandito na naman ako sa site ulit. Busy monitoring and observing all workers and from here, I can see Imee who's busy checking some patients. Simula pa kaninang umaga ni hindi ko pa siya nakitang nagpahinga. Hayst! Sa totoo lang gusto ko siyang lapitan pero she told me na kapag nasa trabaho siya o oras ng trabaho, wag na wag akong lalapit sa kanya.

Mr. Gonzales: Rod!

I heard someone calls my name so I turn back and there, I saw our foreman walking towards me.

Mr. Gonzales: Roderick!

Rod: Bakit po?

Mr. Gonzales: Tinatawagan ka daw ng daddy mo.

Rod: Huh?!

When Mr. Gonzales told me na tinatawagan ako ni Dad, I immediately get my phone inside my pocket and see if it's true and guess what, Dad has 7 missed calls pala. God! How come I didn't notice it?! So I excuse myself na muna then called Dad  na because I'm sure galit na siya.

I called him multiple times but then again he didn't answer. Hayst! Ganto kasi siya eh, mahilig bumawi. To be honest hindi lang ten calls ang hindi niya sinagot. I'm getting pissed off so I've decided to make a last call. Kapag ito hindi pa sinagot, bahala siya. Ay hindi, biro lang baka pauwiin pa ako ng wala sa oras eh HAHAH.

*On call

Rod: Hello, Dad?

Lucas: Kung hindi ko ba tinawagan si Mr. Gonzales hindi mo alam na tumatawag ako?

Rod: I'm sorry dad, I'm busy kasi.

Lucas: Busy? Bakit? Paano?

Rod: I'm busy moni— (didn't finish his words cuz Lucas speak up)

Lucas: Monitoring? Facilitating? Jusko Rod, eh you can do it naman even though you answer my call eh.

Rod: Sorry dad.

I heard Dad sigh deeply on the other line. Narinig ko din si mommy so I guess nasa bahay siya. After a second, I heard someone cough so I ask.

Rod: Who's that?

No one answered so I ended it and called mom through FaceTime. As mom answered the call, kitang-kita ko sa mukha niya ang pag-aalala.

Rod: Mom what happen? Is there something wrong?

Emilia: Well, you're Dad is sick, son. Kaya hindi siya nakapasok sa office ngayon.

Rod: Dad?

Lucas: Rod could you please come over?

Rod: Huh?

Lucas: Pumunta ka dito, ngayon din. Ikaw muna ang bahala sa office dahil ayokong ipagkatiwala sa iba ang firm kahit pa matagal ko ng katrabaho ang iba sa kanila.

Rod: A-as in now?

Lucas: Yes.

Rod: Ahm, Dad it's lunch time na kasi pwede bang bukas nalang ako pumunta jan?

Lucas: Roderick pwede bang tigilan mo ako sa mga pakiusap mo? Kung anong sinabi ko yun ang sundin mo, clear? (Then cough)

Emilia: Ahm anak?

I was about to speak but Dad speak up again. Tsk! I know he's pissed off kaya panigurado akong wala na akong magagawa kundi sumunod nalang talaga.
