CHAPTER 98

Steffie's POV
It's been several days since I saw Lizzy which made me shock as well. To be honest hindi ko naman ginustong pumunta sa hospital na yun at makita niya ako eh it's just that my mom wants me to go there dahil kilala niya ang Doctor doon.

Wala naman talaga akong balak ipaalam kay Roderick eh coz I know kahit pagbali-baliktarin ko pa ang mundo, si Lizzy pa din ang pipiliin niya.

I am now sitting at the veranda, enjoying the view while listening to relaxing music. Medyo halata na din ng tiyan ko so I've decided to quit my job. Minutes had pass someone knocked the door so I stood up and open it.

Stephanie: Hi mom (smile forcedly and gave her mom a cheek kiss)

Avery: So kumusta ang check up mo?

When Mom ask me, I secretly took a deep breath and turned back. Geeezzz! Here we go again. Mom followed me hanggang sa makabalik ako sa veranda. She even turn off the music which made me rolled my eyes.

Avery: Sabi ko kumusta ang check up mo?

Stephanie: You know the Doctor, right? Bakit hindi nalang po siya ang tanungin niyo?

Avery: Wag mokong simulan, Steffie. Tinatanong kita ng maayos so you better answer me (look at Steffie seriously)

Stephanie: (Sigh deeply) Delikado ang pagbubuntis ko, Mommy. Okay na po ba?

Avery: What the—You better tell Roderick about this. Dapat na niyang malaman.

Stephanie: Mom, Ilang beses ko bang sasabihin sa inyo na kaya kong palakihin ang anak ko ng mag-isa? I can provide all our needs on my own.

After telling those words I immediately stood up. Mom keep on talking hanggang sa makarating kami sa dining room. I didn't mind her but by the time I was about to open the fridge, she hold my arm which cause me to face her.

Avery: Hindi pwedeng lumabas yang batang yan ng walang kinikilalang ama, Steffie.

Steffie: Ikakasal na si Roderick, Mom.

Avery: The hell I care! Ang importante malaman niya.

Steffie: If that's your concern, okay I'll tell him...Pero hindi ako pwedeng ikasal sa kanya, Mommy.

When I tell those words, Mom held her temple and placed her hand on her waist.

Avery: Talaga bang gusto mong mapahiya ang pamilya natin ha?! For once Steffie, makinig ka naman sa amin ng Daddy mo.

Stephanie: Paano ako magpapakasal eh hindi nga po ako mahal nung tao, Mommy.

Avery: Tsk! Sana kasi inisip mo yan bago ka lumandi. Kelan mo ba papaganahin yang utak mo ha?!....You know what kung wala kang pakialam sa sasabihin ng mga tao, isipin mo nalang yang anak mo. Gusto mo bang lumaki siya ng hindi maranasan magkaroon ng kompletong pamilya ha?

Those words hit me and it echoes in my mind. Mom is right pero anong magagawa ko? Hindi nga ako mahal ni Rod eh Tsaka kung papapiliin ko siya, siguradong talo ako. Wala naman akong laban kay Imee eh.

As I enter my room, my phone ring. At first I got confuse when I saw the caller's name but seconds had pass naisip ko na baka nasabi na sa kanya ni Lizzy so I took a deep breath and answered it.

Stephanie: He—(didn't finish her words coz Rod speak up right away)

Rod: We need to talk personally. I'll send a message and let's meet there.
