CHAPTER 26

Rod's POV
It's already 2pm and I am here at Atty. Chavez's Law Firm.  Well, I'm planning to see Imee tomorrow na but mom told me that I should talk and ask a permission to her Dad first bago ko siya ligawan ulit so that's what I did. Her secretary told me na he has a client pa daw but after a couple of minutes, he went out of his office at inaya niya ako maglakad-lakad. Kinakabahan ba ako? Ofcourse! Ikaw ba naman makaharap mo tatay ng mahal mo, hindi ka kakabahan? While walking, silence hit us for a while until I've decided to speak up.

Rod: Attorney I came here just to formally inform you that I wanna court your daughter again.

After telling those words, he stop and faced me. He also crossed her arms which cause me to feel even more uncomfortable kasi nga kinakabahan ako.

Edward: Court her? Again? Are you sure? (Serious face)

Rod:  Yes Attorney. I really love Lizzy.......I really love your daughter sir.

Edward: Why? Ilang taon na ang nakalipas Mr. Laurel, bakit ang anak ko pa din ang mahal mo?

Rod: You know what sir, believe it or not, yan din po ang tanong ko sa sarili ko cuz I can't love another woman unless it's your daughter.

Her dad just smile then put his hand inside his pocket then started to walk again.

Edward: Mr. Laurel, alam mo naman kung bakit kita pinagbawalan noon diba?

Rod: Yes sir, malinaw naman po sakin yun at naiintindihan ko po kayo.

Edward: Good (then sigh deeply) So, may pupuntahan ka ba ngayon?

Rod: Wa-wala naman po.

Edward: Nagkita na ba kayo ng anak ko?

Rod: Hindi pa po sir. Actually kaya po ako pumunta dito ngayon para magpaalam cuz I wanna see her tomorrow.

Edward: Gusto mo ba siyang makita ngayon?

When her Dad ask me, I just smile and nodded. After a second, he called her secretary para I-cancel lahat ng sched niya for today. To be honest, I can't believe na magiging ganito kaayos ang usapan namin kasi ang akala ko talaga pagbabawalan niya ulit ako. I'm so happy dahil tinupad niya ang sinabi niya sakin noon.

It took us 2 and a half hours to reach the hospital kung saan nagtatrabaho si Imee. It's a well-known hospital at alam ko naman yun. Habang naglalakad kami papunta sa office niya, the nurses keep on giving greetings to her Dad. Siguro palagi niyang dinadalaw kaya kilala na siya dito or Baka naman talagang kilala nila cuz her Dad is one of famous lawyer here in Manila.

We are now infront of Imee's office. I was about to walk and knock the door but her Dad stopped me and talked to me first. He gave me some rules that I must follow kaya medyo napatagal din ang usapan namin. He also told me na siya muna ang papasok cuz he really want to talk to his daughter privately.

When he entered to Imee's office, ang daming pumapasok na tanong sa isip ko like "What if hindi na niya ako tanggapin ni Imee? What if meron na siyang iba? Kasi kahit naman tinitignan ko yung social media accounts niya araw-araw, hindi naman basehan yun para malaman ko lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay niya. What if ipagtulakan na niya ako palayo kasi sobrang tagal na? What if it's already too late?" I was stop thinking those what if's when her Dad tapped my shoulder which gave me signal para puntahan na si Imee so I stood up.

Rod: Sir?

Edward: Stop calling me sir or attorney. From now on, call me tito, understood?
