CHAPTER 109

Rod's POV
It's a new day at papunta ako ngayon sa hospital. Actually wala pa akong tulog dahil katatapos ko lang ng mga plates for our clients.

Gusto ko man humilata at ipikit ang mga mata ko, hindi ko magawa coz knowing Steffie and my child is not really okay? I can't. I just can't sleep.

I reached the hospital quarter to 10 in the morning. As I enter Steffie's room number, agad naman akong napangiti coz she's eating na. Finally! These past few days kasi wala siyang gana eh kaya nag-alala talaga ako.

Rod: Alone?

Stephanie: Nah (shook her head)

Rod: Oh eh sinong kasama mo?

Stephanie: Si Mom pero lumabas lang saglit (then smile)

Rod: Saan nagpunta?

Stephanie: Sa supermarket. Gusto ko kasi ng watermelon eh. Yung sobrang tamis! Tapos I'll dip it sa Honey.

Rod: Huh?! Makakain mo pa ba yun?

Stephanie: Oo! Bakit ba?

Rod: Eh baka kasi diabe — (didn't finish his words coz Steffie stop him)

Stephanie: Shush! Tumigil ka. Hindi ikaw ang kakain so you shut up.

When Steffie rolled her eyes, she continue to eat. Hayst! Gusto ko man pigilan kumain ng matatamis, hindi ko naman magawa coz Mommy Emilia told me na hindi pwedeng pigilan o hindi sundin ang cravings ng mga buntis.

Minutes had pass, the door immediately open and as I turned back, it's Mommy Emilia. She's holding a supermarket bag so I stood up para kunin ang dala niya.

Rod: Watermelon and honey?

Stephanie: OMG! Pahingi, Rod! (Then smile widely)

Emilia: Your Mom told me to buy dahil hindi daw siya makakabalik agad so there. Walang pulang pakwan kaya yellow nalang ang binili ko (referring to Steffie)

Rod: Wait, I'll cut it lang, excuse me (then carry the bag)

While removing the seeds of watermelon, biglang may kumalabit sa tagiliran ko. As I turned back, it's Mom.

Emilia: Wala si Lizzy sa hospital. Do you know where is she?

When Mom ask me, I immediately stop what I'm doing and slowly look at her. This time, naalala ko si Lizzy. Hindi ko na nga pala siya natawagan, na-text o nakita man lang after the fight that we had.

Emilia: Hey! Do you know where's my daughter-in-law?

Rod: E-excuse me, Mom. Labas lang po muna ako saglit.

Mom simply nodded so I put down the knife and wipe my hands with tissue. Jezzz! How come I forgot about her?! T***~*** naman!

As I went out and close the door, I immediately unlock my phone and tried calling her pero cannot be reach which made me feel nervous.

I even open my socmed accounts coz I'm hoping that she's online pero hindi eh so I called Gab. Good thing he answered right away.

Rod: Hello, Gab?

Gab: Yes?

Rod: I-I was thinking kung...Ahm, y-you know — (didn't finish his words coz Gab speak up again)
