This is Volume 3 of my Ace Attorney one shots!
If you haven't, please check out my other two volumes!
**They are a bit cringy, so beware!**
Anyways! This book will cover all Ace Attorney games from the original trilogy to Spirit of Justice and Edgew...
I sat in my living room, playing on my DS. I had nothing to do, so I decided to jump into a game of ace attorney. I had played all the games in the series, but the older pixel ones were just so charming to me. But there was always one character that caught my eye in particular.
Miles Edgeworth.
He was just one of many fictional people that I had a crush on. I read the occasional fanfic here and there, but that was it.
Just as I created my file, someone knocked on my front door. I put my DS on the coffee table and went to answer the door. I looked through the peephole and saw my best friend (F/n) outside. I opened the door. "What are you doing here? Were we supposed to do something today?" They shook their head. "No, but you know how I was trying to data mine with your old Ace Attorney data?"
I let them inside and shut the door, locking it back. "Yeah, what about it?" They sat on the couch and pulled out their laptop from their bag. "I found something interesting. It looks like there was more integration for the mic then we thought." I tilted my head. "What do you mean?" They turned on the laptop and opened the file explorer. "I found a file will some text in it. It was labeled 'Prosecution Side - Edgeworth' and had a whole script where the player would use the mic to say certain phrases to Edgeworth during trial recesses."
I hummed. "What about the other games?" They nodded. "This feature was in the trilogy and Apollo Justice. There were scripts for Franziska, Godot, and Klavier. The trilogy held multiple for Edgeworth. I'm surprised no one's found this yet." I looked at my DS. "Since you know how to code, do you think you could re-code it back into the game?" They nodded. "Sure. It might take a while though. Luckily enough, they left the sprite name under each sentence said by the prosecutors."
Once I made sure my file was saved, I turned off my DS and handed them the SD card. They inserted it into the computer and got straight to work. While I waited, I worked on some school work. It was a few hours later that I got the SD card back. (F/n) spoke. "Alright, it should work. If anything interesting happens, give me a call." After that, they left.
I put the SD card back in the ds and turned it on. I loaded up the first ace attorney game. The options for new game and continue game appeared as usual, but under them, was a new option. It looked the same as the other two, but it said 'Recess Mode'.
I clicked on it and the gavel pound sounded as usual. But then, the screen faded to black. The screen stayed that way for a few seconds before opening to the courtroom lobby. The text box at the bottom appeared.

(A/N: I made this screenshot!)
February 24th meant that this was during Rise From The Ashes. The sprite of Edgeworth looking to the side and grabbing his arm appeared on screen. Some dialogue appeared, but it was voice acted. Edgeworth spoke. "This has went south very quickly..."
On the bottom screen, the mic icon appeared. From the textbook, I knew that this was right after the courtroom turned on Edgeworth because of Gant. I looked at the paper (F/n) left with the commands from the script. I decided to try the first one. I tapped the mic button.
"It's not your fault."
Another dialogue box appeared and the sprite changed to the one of Edgeworth looking straight ahead. The line was once again voice acted.
"You can hear me?"
At that, I paused. The mic button was visible again, but I didn't press it. Then, that same formal voice came through the speakers. "Are you there?" I pressed the mic button again and in my confusion, I spoke. "There's no way. This is a game...right?" The sprite changed to his smirking one. "A game? For you, maybe. For me, this is real." One thought came to mind.
'I must be dreaming...'
I sat there for an entire hour, asking various questions and always getting an answer back. Knowing that a fictional crush of mine existed, even if they couldn't be in the real world, was so exciting.
...
"So is it all pixelated or...?"
"It's as real as the blush on your cheeks."
I shook my head. "Anyways! Can you go off script or are you stuck with it?" His sprite changed to one of him nodding his head. "I can do what I want in this mode, but within the actual game, everything is controlled by the script." I hummed. "I see." I looked at the clock.
"I almost forgot! I have an evening class in an hour!" I looked at my DS. "I'll leave this on charge, but I'll be back soon, Miles! Will you be ok?" He nodded. "I will be fine. If I may ask, what are you attending school for?" I smiled. "To be a lawyer, of course!" He smirked. "I should've known."
I grabbed my school bag and headed towards the front door. "I'll be back soon, Miles!" His voice reached my ears, making me smile.
