Fair & Honest PT. 2

A/N: Credit to imalazywriter for the idea for this second part! Thank you!

Your Pov:

After yesterday, word spread like wildfire through the office. And once they found out everything, they were rightfully angry.

I pulled into the parking garage and parked my car. As I entered the lobby, I saw everyone standing inside. Some held small signs while others looked upset. Nahyuta came over to me. "(Y/n), did you hear?" I shook my head. "No. What's happening?" He sighed. "Mr. Edgeworth tried to change the paygrade and the executives refused to listen to him. Everyone here is protesting their decision."

I huffed. "Finally. Hand me a sign, please." He picked up one of the signs from the counter and handed it to me. It read 'Men of quality don't fear equality!' and on the back said 'We refuse to be second class workers!'

Klavier approached us. "Don't worry, fraulein. We're fighting with you. Those cowards clearly aren't men." Nahyuta spoke. "They're no better than dogs. Oppressing women makes them feel powerful."

Just then, Franziska and Detective Gumshoe entered the lobby. The two came over to us as Klavier left. Franziska frowned. "Miles Edgeworth is on his way here. He said no violence but I refuse to be treated as less then because of a fool's ego!" She cracked her whip, making Gumshoe jump. "Y-Yeah! You both are the best prosecutors around! The strongest people I've known were women!"

I smiled. "I'm glad you think so. The executives were close with Blaise Debeste, so we all know why they're sexist idiots." Franziska huffed. "When Miles Edgeworth gets here, I'll-" She was cut off by Mr. Edgeworth entering the lobby. "Attention everyone. The executives will be arriving soon to address this urgent matter. Please remain civil."

Soon, the executives arrived. As soon as they stepped foot in the lobby, everyone else, minus Mr. Edgeworth who was watching, started shouting.

"YOU TAKE ONE OF US ON, YOU TAKE ALL OF US ON!"

Franziska and I stood in front of the rest, holding our signs as we shouted our own message.

"WHAT DO WE WANT? EQUAL PAY!!! AND IF WE DON’T GET IT? SHUT IT DOWN!!!"

One of the executives spoke, making us all fall silent. "Gentleman, you can return to work while we speak with the ladies." Nahyuta shook his head. "What you say to them, you can say in front of us." Klavier cut in. "Unless you're a coward, that is." The executive sighed. "Fine."

He looked at Franziska and I. "Ladies, if a little pay difference does this to you, maybe you're not suited for prosecuting. With your pretty faces, you could be models. Why don't you go dress up and leave the real work to the men?"

The shouts and chants started up again. Franziska was being held back by Gumshoe, but no one was holding me. I slapped the man, the sound resonating through the lobby. His head snapped to the side as he fell. Three bloody slashes marked his face. He groaned in pain, but I didn't care. I had worn my business heels today and I was thankful I did.

I rested my foot on his pelvis and rested my weight on it, digging my heel in. He started whimpering from the pain. I lifted my foot and kicked him hard in that spot before I was pulled away.

Sirens filled my ears as a few police officers entered the lobby. As they went to handcuff me, everyone shielded me. I could hear several voices telling off the officers.

"Arrest her and I'll gladly go back to prison for your murders."

Simon.

"An arrest for self-defense? That's the best excuse you can make?"

Sebastian.

"Even the Holy Mother herself would condone this woman's actions and she'd strike you down with fitting vengeance."

Nahyuta.

More and more voices were added onto the pile. And soon, the police could do nothing but pick the executive up off the floor and leave. The rest of the executives didn't bother to stick around at that point. Franziska looked at me. "You certainly showed those fools." Mr. Edgeworth looked at me. "I certainly see a pay raise in your future. They know you aren't afraid to stand up for yourself."

I smiled. "I'm not afraid to stand up against anyone. And I'm thankful that everyone decided to stand with me."

That day, everything changed. The executives were promptly fired and replaced by better people. I had heard from Mr. Edgeworth that this was the work of our protesting and ex-chief prosecutor Lana Skye. She had heard about the pay gap and used what little influence she had left to boot the old executives.

And when we received our next paystubs?

Everyone was finally equal.
