I stood in the court lobby with Ryuu and Susato as they prepared for the trial. Susato turned to me. "Are you sure he's warm enough? And has a fresh bottle?" I smiled at her. "Yes, Susato. Daitaro will be fine." A coo came from the bundle in my arms. Susato nodded. "Alright..." She hesitated. "...I wish Kazuma could've...met him..." I sighed. "Me too..."

Ryuu looked over at us. "Oh, he's awake?" He came over and gently tickled Daitaro. I smiled as a small infant hand wrapped around his hand. But the moment was broken as the trial was called into session.

Days had passed since then and things had changed for the worst. I had found that Kazuma was alive. Now I stood in the prosecutor's office with Ryuu, Susato, and Kazuma. Kazuma took a step towards me. "(Y/n)..." I stepped back, shaking my head. "Don't." He stopped. "How old is he?" I held my son closer. "One month. He was born in early September."

I found out that I was pregnant with Daitaro when I was aboard the SS Burya. At the time, I had thought that Kazuma was dead. Susato became a big help while Ryuu took Kazuma's place as a father.

Kazuma spoke once more. "I want to see him. Please." I shook my head. "No. You do not deserve to. He doesn't even bear your surname. He is a (L/n)." Ryuu tried to speak. "(Y/n), Daitaro should get to-" I cut him off. "What? Meet the man who left us alone? No, the boy pretending to be a man all for revenge is no man at all." Kazuma looked at Ryuu and Susato. "Please, leave us."

The two looked at each other and then left the room. Kazuma turned to me. "My son...he's as much a part of me as he is of you. All I ask is to see him. Please." I glared at him. "No. He'll be fine without you. Ryuu is taking up the role of a father just fine. Now, goodbye...Prosecutor Asogi."

I turned to leave the room, but before I could, Kazuma stopped me. "You're allowing Ryuunosuke to raise my son? To take part in his life before I can? What are you thinking?" I turned back to him. "Don't act like you want to be a part of Daitaro's life. You didn't even know that I was pregnant. And now, you're focused on your revenge. You don't want us."

Kazuma stepped closer to me and this time, I didn't step back. He reached a hand out, fingers gently brushing against Daitaro's cheek. "He's...beautiful." I looked at him, tears stinging my eyes. "How do I know you won't leave again? Leave us, again?" I let him take Daitaro from my arms. He held him close, a small smile on his face. "Nothing could take me away from the two of you now." He looked at me, eyes filled with determination. "Not ever."

He wrapped his free arm around me and kissed my forehead. "I love you, (Y/n). You and our son." I rested my head on his chest. "I love you both too."

And so finally, after so much time apart, we were finally a family. Now and forever.
