You were his princess, until a death tore you both apart. Loki wanted to be yours, but returning to the hideous realm of Asgard made you think differently. Why would he care? Someone you trusted with all your heart, someone you loved.

"So, How have you and Loki been doing?" Fandral inquired as he swerved to the right, dodging your blade as you both sparred.
"Oh, we've been fine," you replied, "He was a bit dominating when we would be in front of his father, but we worked it out and he doesn't do that anymore."
You placed your hand on your hip, "So, how'd it go with your duchess?"
"Oh she's already courting another woman," he shrugged, "But it doesn't matter, there'll always be more!"
"That's the attitude!" you laughed.
"May I?" The dark-haired prince tapped the back of Fandral's shoulder as he questioned him.
"Oh yea," he moved, "She'll beat you, you know."
"No, she won't," he posed with his sword.
"You're just begging to get your ego bruised," you smirked as you gripped your sword tighter.
"Let's fight."
You both began to jest at first, Loki faking a lunge at you a number of times. At last, he caught the tip of your blade, and you retorted back with a swivel and slice. He tried to perform an attack to your side, but you made sure the blade never got past your sword.
You bent your knees forward, putting on a stance of defence. Loki lunged at your head, putting his knee forward as you tilted your head back. Retracting his sword, you saw your moment.
By some miracle, you managed to sneak your foot behind his ankle, immediately pulling it back and sending him to the ground. Pulling your sword to his neck, you smiled out of breath.
"You don't have to be dominant," you said, "You just have to know what to do when."
"My life's goal is now to get at least one win against you," Loki joked as you pulled him up to his feet.

"My Lady?" A quiescent voice was knocking at the door.
"Come in," you answered.
"You have a letter, your Highness," The young maid bowed, "It is from the King of Vanaheim, My Lady."
"Clearly you are new here," you stood from the sette and placed down your book.
"That I am, My Lady."
"Then you shall not know that I prefer being called by my name," She handed you a small envelope stamped with the seal of your Kingdom, "Call me Y/n."
"As you wish, Y/n."
"Excuse me," Loki interrupted the poor girl as she was blocking the entrance of the room. "May I pass?"
"Oh yes! I'm so sorry, your majesty! Please forgive me!"
"Ehehe," he laughed. His laugh was one that never failed to make you smile. "Don't worry. It's fine."
"Hello, Loki,"
"Princess," he smiled as he walked into the washroom.
You sat down at the tea-table, opening up the letter and reading its contents with a worrisome look.
"Darling?" Loki returned to see a single teardrop roll down your cheek, "What's wrong?"
Dear Daughter, I am sorry to inform you that I have been ill these past few months. My limbs were aching and I could barely move, much less write you a letter. I am better now, thanks to one of your mothers' famous healing spells found by the healers.
You are well aware of my age, and my nearness to death, and your mother. I do not wish to disturb you or your studies on Asgard, which I am sure Frigga handles well. Until your permanent arrival to Vanaheim, I have left the throne under the wise supervision of my most trusted advisor, Hakir.
Since you haven't any suitors, I have arranged your marriage to Hakir, he has a fondness for you and will treat you well. Your wedding will take place a few days after your return, and I do hope you are comfortable with this.
Love, Father
"Oh fuck," He cursed.
"Why," you put your hands in your head, "Why is it that when everything is going wonderful, that this crap happens to me?"
"N/n," Loki tried to comfort you, "Let's just-"
"And why him?! That disgusting man?!" You tightened your fist, "As soon as I return, I am to be married!?"
"Then don't go," The prince raised his voice, "just don't go back."
"What do you mean 'don't go back'?!"
"Tell your father that you don't want to marry him! You can't!"
"And who are you to tell me what I can and can't do!"
"I-"
"I don't wANT TO FUCKING MARRY ANYONE!"
"I SAID JUST DON'T LEAVE!"
"AND WHY NOT, YOUR MAJESTY?"
"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!"
