Wei Ying's Biggest Secret

"I know that you both have seen a lot," Nuwa says, "I asked the others to see if there was anything we can do to shorten this at all. They said they at least wanted to share with you Wei Wuxian's biggest secret. It is something that he never told anyone and it would show you why he took the unorthodox path."

"Biggest secret?" I asked, "So we don't have to watch him die again?"

"Well not exactly," She said with hesitation, "This next memory will be the most painful one you will ever see. And I am say this now so you can prepare yourselves. I also want you to know, do not go self blaming and fill yourselves with guilt, as you never knew."

I sighed and looked at Xichen, "Are you ready then?" I asked him.

"Are you ready is the question?" Xiongzhang asked.

"As ready as I can be," I said.

Before we set off, Nuwa spoke again, "So you can start at a curtain point of the memory, I will tell you some things that had happened after Madam Yu sent Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian off on that boat," she looked at us and we nodded for her to proceed, "After they were sent off, Madam Yu defended Lotus Pier to the best of her abilities. Jiang Fengmian and Jiang Yanli came upon the boys' boat and asked them what had happened. After explaining, Fengmian tied Yanli up with the boys and told them to continue forward and not to go back. After a while, Zidian came loose as it was safe for them. They decided to head back and look for Jiang Fengmian and Madam Yu. Yanli stayed back in the woods nearby, and the boys went back to the Pier. When they got there, everyone was gone, even the young ones. The three siblings were the last to survive the massacre.

"The two went back to Yanli and found an inn to hide in. Yanli fell ill and Cheng fell into deep depression. Wuxian held himself together to aide the two properly. He left for a few minutes to get fresh medicine and food but when he returned, Jiang Cheng had disappeared. He told Yanli to say hidden and he went after Cheng who went back to Lotus Pier, and saw that he was captured by the Wens. With the help of Wen Ning, he got Cheng back but he was unconscious. Wen Ning went with to grab Yanli and then took them to a hidden place where he and his sister resided. Wen Qing helped aide them back to health as much as she could, but she found something that she was not expecting."

After hearing Nuwa it was a lot to take in. They really were the only three left. My brother and I became worried as we did not know what we were getting ourselves into next. But with all that was said, Nuwa said no more and sent us on our way.

~*Flashback*~

We found ourselves standing with a house. Wanyin was laying unconscious on the bed, Wei Ying sitting next to him, and Yanli on another bed on the other side of the room. Wanyin eventually woke up but seemed more troubled. Not just because he was mourning his family, but he was distraught about something else.

Wanyin sat up and nudged Wei Ying's shoulder, "What?" Wei Ying asked.

"Did you feel it?" Wanyin asked.

"Huh? Wei Ying asked.

"My power, did you feel it?" He asked again.

"Oh, try again, I was not sure was you were doing, I thought you were playing around," Wei Ying said. Wei Ying seemed to know something and did not want to say it out loud.

"Do you know why they call him, Core-melting hand?" Wanyin cried and looked at his hands, "He melted my core, I am a useless person now...How can I get revenge without a core?"

My brother and I looked at each other in shock, "So he did lose his core," I said, "But how did he get it back?"

"We will figure something out, A'Cheng," Wei Ying told him.
