Chapter 6

Evelyn's Pov

Cooking lunch, Anne walked inside with a grapes and she smiled at me "found this near the house and asks for you to cook it again, please?" She said while looking at me.

I chuckled, giving her a nod "Alright but this is the last time, I want you to look everytime I put something in it" I said then Anne smiled and hugging me "ohh thank you!"

I continue cooking with a smile on my face "stop hugging me now and watch everytime I cook" I said and Anne quickly released the hug, watching me how to cook.

"Alright then flip it" Anne then flipped the eggs, I clapped my hands "Perfect circle, now next time. You have to be fast, look the egg now they look like pancakes" I said and Anne laugh "that was just the beginning, here let me just place this" she said while placing the egg on the plate.

I tried the egg and I hummed then frown at the taste "w-wha-" Anne quickly said "oh no, I forgot to put salt!" She said and I gulped down the egg, drinking water quickly.

She laugh at my reaction, hitting her arm slightly "oh that taste bad b-but you did great" I said with my voice crack, my teeth rubbing my tongue to clean and get the taste of egg out of my mouth.

As Anne continued to laugh, A knock on the door stop her and making our head turns to the door. I then opened the door to find Thomas! "Oh- thomas, what are you doing here?" I asks.

"I just wanted to see you and continue reading book 2 of dark dungeon, can i come in?" He asks and I quickly opened the door as he walk inside the house "oh, you were having lunch? Sorry for the disturb" Thomas said.

I nodded "no it's fine, we just finished" I said and Thomas looked around "You cooked this? Let me have a tast-" I widened my eyes and cutted him off "no! Uh i mean you can eat but not this one" I said while smiling nervously.

Anne smiled wickedly and brought the plate "no no, take a seat and eat this. Im sure Evelyn here is a great cook" she said, I widened my eyes "Thomas, its better if i cook you another one" I said and quickly go to the kitchen, getting another egg to cook.

I look around for the salt, turning around and find Thomas admiring the egg then shoving it in his mouth, I widened my eyes and look away quickly "hm this is-" he then quickly drank water.

Anne laughed loudly, I quickly walk towards him and poured another water in his glass. "Oh, how do you think of Evelyn's cooking?" Anne ask. I bit my lip and look away "oh um hmm well, it's very good" He said with a nod, smiling up to me. I smiled back but nervously.

I cleared my throat "Actually Anne cooked the egg, not me" I said while glaring at her, signalling her to tell the truth. Anne was about to reply but Thomas cutted her "oh, I see. Her name was Anne, the one who knocked me out" he said, now I was the one whos laughing.

Anne quickly looked down and embarrassed, while I was laughing "Well, sorry for that. I believe whatever my friend says" She said, Thomas chuckled "well, excuse us for an hour" He said while standing up, taking my wrist.

I slow down my laugh as Thomas taking my wrist "wait where are you taking me?" I asks. "Peaceful place with you, come on" I nodded and follow him.

Thomas stopped near the river and sat down, I sit down beside him and he pulled out a book "oh, thats the 2nd book" I said. He nodded "Yes, I brought this with me for you" Thomas replied, I chuckled.

"Thanks" . "Now let's read the first page" Thomas said while opening the first page to find a notes of the book, I laugh "well read it" I said jokingly, he chuckled "Let's continue here" he pointed at the chapter 57.

"Now, Melinda was heartbroken and couldn't sleep to hear that her daughter was dead" I gasped "what, how did they start like this. we'd be heartbroken too!" I said and Thomas laughed.
