Aya

You know how you flip a page of a book and it becomes a completely different thing right? That's exactly how my mood flipped, and not just a page, probably like a hundred of them because a very bitter feeling exploded inside me like an atomic bomb, taking over every nook and cranny of my body.

I was happy and excited just 20 seconds ago, possibly the happiest I had ever been in a very long while, but setting eyes on Layla's unfortunately beautiful face riled so many negative emotions up inside me; precisely anger and frustration.

And to make it worse, she just stood there and smiled innocently at me, as if she was happy to see me or something, which even the dumbest person on earth could tell was a blatant lie.

"Hey Aya," came her annoying high pitched voice, with that smile still on her face, to which I just crossed my arms over my chest and stared at her in pure disbelief "how are you?"

Lol!

It was the audacity for me.

The audacity to even think that she had the right to try and start a conversation with me after what she did and to think that she could just saunter back, smile her way around and expect everything to be fine.

"Come in" was all I said to her before turning around and sashaying my way back to the lounge room sitting in my previous spot; next to Hafeez on the couch.

"who was it?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"See for yourself" I responded. for some reason I couldn't get myself to say her name, so I just pointed towards my right, and at the same time, she appeared.

"Baby!!" She ran to him and threw herself on him, wrapping her arms around his neck as tightly as she possibly could "I missed you so much Wallahi"

His reaction to seeing her out of the blue was the same as mine when I opened the door, just that he wasn't angry, he was confused and clueless instead, wondering what the hell was happening, and Wallahi it was funny. his facial expression was so hilarious, and the fact that she was crying made it even harder for me to hold my laughter in, but thank God it wasn't audible.

"You have no idea how long I waited for you to come and bring me back home baby, I was always getting dressed up and hoping you'd just show up at any moment" she dramatically wiped her tears with a tissue she pulled out of her black Dior oblique saddle bag.

He looked at her blankly and then shrugged "it's good that you stopped waiting and decided to come back yourself, because I wouldn't have gone anywhere even if you were to spend a million years away, you really should've known that" he snapped, looking straight into her eyes "or have you forgotten that I wasn't the one who told you to leave? You chose to do that because your ego was more important to you, so why were you expecting me to 'bring you back'?"

I could tell that she wasn't expecting that response, because she instantly became restless and slightly embarrassed, which she tried to hide with a sigh but failed miserably "baby I'm sorry. please let bygones be bygones. I'm not proud of what I did, and I certainly do not want to remember anything about that horrible day, so let's just-"

"I'm not the one that's supposed to hear an apology from you Layla," he cut her off "Aya does, And she-"

"Actually, I don't. let her keep her apology to herself, I could care less" I rolled my eyes.
