"𝓨/n are you sure you don't wanna hang out with us?" I lifted my gaze from my notebook to Miriam, she's doing this thing again when she pouts to make me feel guilty! When my cronies finally got a hold onto my attention—they all mirrored Miriam's expression combining all their willpower to make me succumb; their eyes glistening to tempt me, unfortunately as much as I want to, I just can't!

"Guys, I already told you I'm taking over Devon's shift tonight since he couldn't make it for whatever reason." I explained for what seems like the fifteenth time, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but with no avail they groaned (also for the fifteenth time). My gaze returns to my notebook filled with endless information, and when they noticed they're losing me again Abby shook me vigorously enough that I might just enter an out of body experience.

"You haven't hung out with us in a while, and no! Being at school doesn't count." Mei objects, her voice is soft but knowing her—she's definitely a bit upset. It feels horrible, all I do is study to higher my chances of getting into my dream university, and work of course why else do we work? It's not just the plane ticket I'm saving up for, I'm saving up as much as I could so when I get to Paris I'd have enough before I find a decent job there that can afford me monthly payments for housing and necessities. I'm just making sure that I'm prepared, especially on a crucial time like this—I'm so close to achieving it, next week is finals week so I most definitely cannot be slacking.

"Wait wait Devon? Is he okay? I can ask my mom to make soup for him!" Abby disregarded the whole conversation and went haywire at the mention of Devon's name, it has been years and she seems to be the only one who's still gushing about Devon, we all grew out of it! When will she?

"He probably just didn't feel like working a graveyard shift." Priya decided to chime in, her tone is as lackadaisical as ever,

"Enough of Devon! Guys! 4town's concert tonight hello?!" Mei screeched and unnecessarily she closed my notebook, I let out a languid sigh. There was never a day where none of them mentioned the boyband, I've never heard any of their songs nor do I know what they look like—but one thing for sure is that they have additives in their tracks from the way my friends are acting, See right now Mei is going thru withdrawals for example.

"You know, If you guys were actually going to the concert and not just watching it from someone live recording it, then maybe I would've considered to join." I sardonically commented which earned me a few eye rolls from my cronies.

"It will still be fun! I can't believe you haven't listened to them, like not even once!" Mei hopped in one position—and they all nodded their head in agreement to her.
