Chapter 46

CEARA'S POV

"Engineer Valdez."

I stopped speaking and turned to our construction manager and smiled. I lowered my hand holding the ballpen that had been pointing earlier at the large projector screen behind me. I was in the middle of sharing my presentation with them when someone suddenly asked. I politely looked at him and spoke.

"Yes?" I asked him.

"Our next project is in Laguna?" he repeats what I said.

He had to ask because otherwise he might have done wrong.

"Yes, you're correct. In Laguna is our next project. In Calamba," I answered.

"We don't yet know how long it will take us to construct the resort. This is the biggest project we have ever received, so I guess it will take a few years to finish lalo na at tag-ulan ngayon. But don't worry, we have our plans and actions ready, so that we won't have any more difficulties with our project. I have prepared everything for you all. But....." "But my plans may change because there are events that we cannot expect. So you should always be ready no matter what," I finished.

"Yeah.

"You, on the other hand," I turned my gaze to our female architect. She sat up straight and looked straight into my eyes. "I showed you earlier what our client wants to design for his resort. I will send you a soft copy, so that you can study it."

"Noted, Ma'am," said the architect.

I faced them again. "I need updates and information about this project. Ask our client if the date he told us when we will start is final. I also want to know about how much we will spend and our budget. Important documents that I need to read, hand them to me right away," I paused. I propped my two palms on the table and leaned my body over them." Do you understand me? Do you have any questions?" I asked. Some shook their heads and others did not answer, but had nothing to ask. "Good. We're all done. Meeting adjourned," I dismissed them.

"Thank you, Ma'am."

As I entered my own office, my eyes landed on what was written on the plate in front of my table. My full name is written there and under it is my position as Civil Engineering Department Manager of this company. I can't help, but smile as I remember how I achieved the title I have today.
