"Riley Chambers is a prick," Leilani huffed under her breath. The slightly overweight, balding man thought very highly of himself. Almost every day Riley Chambers, the English teacher two classrooms down, would try to flirt with Leilani. She shot him down every time, and every time he would remark, "It's only a matter of time." He would approach her after class was dismissed for the day in her classroom and just wouldn't take the hint. Leilani was very close to hexing him. Maybe turn his skin blue, or give him boils that would continuously pop throughout the day all over his face. Riley had come into her classroom a moment ago to suggest he should give her a "ride" home since he feels it's inappropriate for women to ride motorcycles. Lei white-knuckle gripped her satchel and told him to leave her alone. Riley winked at her and walked away, leaving a furious witch seconds away from retrieving her wand from its holster.

When Lei reached the football field for practice, she saw the team was already stretching. "Sorry guys. Mister Chambers just doesn't take no for an answer." She set down her bag and pulled out the new playbook to go over with the captain, Matt, and the self-appointed co-captain Tyler. They went over different variations of the plays to figure out which would work best. Lei walked away to grab a bottle of water. She turned back to Matt and saw Tyler had thrown a football at the back of Stefan's head. Stefan could hear Matt and Tyler talking so he was expecting it. Plus Elena was standing in front of him, he noticed her eyes widened and was getting ready to warn him when he turned around and caught the ball.

Stefan gestured to Tyler that he was going to toss it back. The football came flying back and Tyler felt like he got punched in the gut. Lei raised an eyebrow, "What do you think? Wide receiver or maybe Running Back?" She asked both Matt and Tyler. "I'm cool with it," Matt said. They both looked to Tyler who was trying to catch his breath, "Sure." Lei ran to catch up to Stefan and asked if he wanted to join the team as a wide receiver or running back. "Funny, I played wide receiver before. How did you know?" Stefan asked Miss Evans. She shrugged her shoulders, "I guessed. So, are you interested?"

The first football game was that Friday. After some shifting of players, Stefan had taken the wide receiver position. During practice that week there was some tension between Tyler and Stefan with the latter thinking Stefan was going to steal his spotlight. Leilani stated the team as a whole would be in the spotlight on Friday, so they needed to practice. "And not parade around like peacocks," Lei said as a warning to the players. With Tyler and Matt's help, Leilani coached the team, ready for Friday.

The next afternoon had the principal marching into Lei's classroom during the final period with an agitated Jeremy Gilbert following behind him. "Miss Evans, Jeremy Gilbert was found at the Grill by our attendance officer when he should be in your class." The principal's voice was loud and echoed down the hall. Lei stepped closer to the principal, "Let's discuss this in the hall quietly. This is between the three of us, not the entire school."

The principal walks out to the hall and waits. Jeremy looks at Miss Evans and gets confused when she winks at him. Lei starts to explain, "Sir, I'm sure you're aware of the rich history in this town?" "Of course, I am. I've lived here all my life. What does that have to do with Mister Gilbert not being in class?" The principal glared at Jeremy. This gave Lei the opportunity to wandlessly conjure the sketch pad she was using for the town center into Jeremy's backpack.

"It has plenty to do with Mister Gilbert. You see, when I first got here I looked through the tourist pamphlet and it had a horribly outdated map. So, I thought it would be beneficial to create a new map of Mystic Falls. To do that, someone has to literally draw it out." Lei turned to Jeremy, "Would you mind getting that sketch pad I gave you to use?" Her eyes gestured to his backpack. Jeremy still had a look of confusion but did what he was asked. He set his backpack down, opened the main pocket and pulled out a sketch pad he didn't know he had, and handed it to Miss Evans.

"Since I can't be everywhere at once, I had asked Mister Gilbert here to help me sketch the plots for the map. The plan was to start in the town center then end at the city limits." Lei opened it to the pages with the town center. The principal rubbed his forehead in frustration, "You could have just gone to city hall." "Actually, I did. What's in the archives is over thirty years old, and there have been estate sales since then. So they are, again, outdated." Lei took the sketch pad back and handed it to Jeremy. She moved closer to the principal so she could lower her voice, "With the tragedy that occurred last summer, this project is a way for Mister Gilbert to have a moment to himself while working on said project. Once the map is complete I will be creating a mural on the back wall of the classroom, and then we can re-address the matter. Until then, he is still on my time. Good afternoon, sir."

Leilani stepped between the two and gestured for Jeremy to go into the classroom. The principal was left standing out in the hall, mouth gaped like a fish out of water as the dismissal bell rang. Jeremy waited until the classroom was empty before asking, "How did that sketchpad get into my backpack?" Lei was packing up her stuff, "Would you believe me if I said magic?" "No," Jeremy scoffed. "Then don't worry about it. However, on the days you are not in class I would greatly appreciate it if you could help plot the map." "What's it for? I saw those sketches. They're detailed, right down to the unlevel, cracked sideway a few doors from the Grill." Jeremy raises his eyebrow.

"I can't tell you that here. Head to this address around seven if you really want to know." Lei gave Jeremy her home address. He looks at it, "This is next door to the Lockwoods'." "Don't I know it?!  I keep waiting to see a periscope peak over my fence," Lei jokes. Jeremy laughs and puts the address in his pocket, "Thanks, Miss Evans. I'm sorry for putting you on the spot." Lei waves it off as they leave the classroom, "Don't worry about it. Now, if you excuse me, I need to get to the field for practice." The two parted ways, Lei walked to the football field and Jeremy headed towards the town center. He studied each sketch to see if any details were missed and filled them in.

Lei got home a little before six. Hermione met her in the foyer, "How did it go today? Anything new?" Lei took off her jacket and satchel. She ran her hand through her hair, "The day was pretty normal except for the last class. Jeremy Gilbert was dragged in by his ear pretty much because he was at the Grill and not in class. Worked it out though, but I had to use magic. The principal didn't see but Jeremy did. So, I invited him over for dinner." "Oh, Merlin. Lei, what have you got us into?" Hermione shook her head. "I'll inform Winky we have guests coming," Hermione headed for the kitchen.

Sure enough, at seven o'clock on the dot, the doorbell rang. Leilani answered, "Hey Jeremy...And everybody." She looked behind him and saw Elena, Caroline, Bonnie, Stefan, and Damon. "Well, good thing there's plenty of food." She invited them all in but stopped Stefan and Damon at the threshold, "This place is warded. If either of you have intentions that are not pure, you will not be able to come in. Even if you're invited." Stefan nodded his head, "Understood." He walked in and stood next to Elena.

Damon smirked but was unable to step into the home, "Oh come on." Lei crossed her arms, "What are your intentions?" Damon exhaled forcefully through his nose before whispering, "I was going to try to compel you to tell us everything." Lei uncrossed her arms and put her hands on her hips, "I'm going to have to. I used magic in front of Jeremy. It's why I invited him over, to explain what he saw." She gave him a moment to think over what she said, "Now that you know that, what are your intentions?" Damon gave the same smirk, "Eat dinner and listen to your story."

AN: I am definitely creating my own timeline at this point. The Mystic Falls Map was a sudden change to my story. Hope you like it.
