SIX MONTHS HAD PASSED since the battle at Starcourt Mall. Six months since the pathway between dimensions was permanently closed, terminating the shadow monster for good. Six months since the death of police chief Jim Hopper, the most beloved friend and father figure, and Billy Hargrove, who's sacrifice saved them all. Six months since the Byers family had moved to sunny California, leaving Hawkins, along with all of its painful memories behind.
Six months since the group of friends had separated, now thousands of miles apart.
Over the course of these several months, many things seemed to change. Since their lives were now rid of supernatural beings and constant life-threatening situations, the group of teenagers were finally able to settle down and attend high school, doing their best to lead normal teenage lives. On the bright side, Cassie Harrington and Mike Wheeler had made up since their fallout, and were now back in a healthy relationship.
However, returning completely back to normal was rather difficult after losing both Eleven and Will Byers. This change made it hard for the group of friends to stay connected, and soon, they slowly started to fall apart. At this vulnerable time, a new, horrifying supernatural threat emerged, completely turning their newly built lives around. This time, the threat was much bigger, much more gruesome, and much deadlier than anything they had ever faced before.
