Bonus Chapter #9: Everything takes Time Part 3

POV: Navy

Navy had no idea what made Claws so serious. It was like a switch is turned on and off in that Prince's head. That idea scares him more than he would like to admit.

"Here is the real reason why I asked you to come." Claws said without giving Navy a chance to even sit.

"What will that be?" Navy said slowly as thoughts and possible ideas popped into his head.

Claws didn't allow his thoughts to get too out of his paw. Less than a minute he spoke again as he lean on his desk. "My father has given us by the blue moon until he will choose a suitor for Rosesis to marry." Claws said, not meeting the brown tiger eyes.

"That is in two months, and I thought...." Navy stutters which he often does when he is nervous.

"My father doesn't care. He thinks you weak, and my mother doesn't believe you can protect her." Claws almost shouted. However, it didn't leave an echo in the cave. Navy wonder if that is with the caves or was Claws cave just special.

"So, why are you telling me this?" Navy was dumbfounded and couldn't believe he was hearing.

What he couldn't understand either was ...

"Because Rosesis loves you, and you want to marry my sister, not the princess!" Claws confessed and kept on speaking as in a rant that he kept inside him for a while ñow. "One of the suitors bares a gift of a dragon, and that will cause a civil war if he is on the throne." Claws were speaking faster now, and almost forgot to breathe. This mess has been eating away at him for months. "And what I gather from him. He is greedy and selfish and only wants the throne."

"Truth be told. I don't want anyone to marry her beside me," Navy confessed.

Rosy was amazing, and that was without the crown and throne.

"So, for two months, we have to get you to float stone, pair of wings, and you have to past for a Griffin without having any real talent for." Navy could tell that Claws was scared of the idea of a civil war.

It must be hard being Prince and guardian of the throne. Civil war would mean that he would have to choose between family and someone could claim the crown.

"Wings and the stone will only get us so far." Claws said in a whimpered never looking at Navy. He kept his eyes on the desk, which meant he was trying to take keep everything together. "I fear that two months is no longer enough for you to learn every." Claws hiccup and Navy became worried. He has never seen the Prince like this. "You need more than that to convince my father. You need...."

"To be a Griffin, no mistakes and a great lie to explain why I kept this a secret." Navy finished for him.

Navy spent enough time with the family to know that Leona was good at telling stories and had a temper while Claws put an act on when he is on the edge. Each sibling had their way of dealing with pain and regret, but it appears that Claws must know this suitor's information as Rosy and Leona never mentioned it.

"I am not sure that I can lie to the King and Queen," Navy said honestly. Claws looked at him with eyes that fear the idea of his sister dying. "But I will try my hardest to convince the parents of the one that I love that I am just as great as any Gift barer and great beast!"

Claws gave a sad smile as Navy made his way and leaned into him in a hug-like gesture. "Everything takes time, your highness. If we take it one step at a time. We have two months, right?" Claws nodded as Navy turned around just in time to see the young of the Prince's safe haven. "And I assumed that we have plenty of help."

Elfie smiled and nodded excitedly. Oak just stood there with wide eyes as if lost in thought. Rocky kept touching his necklace and pretending that he didn't do it on purpose. Unique flew and landed at Navy left on a book pile.

Navy turned to Claws as his eyes fell onto the owlet.

He smiled. "Claws everything, takes time. I promise you this. There will be no one on the throne next to Rosy besides me."

Claws only smiled but kept his gaze at the owlet.

Sorry, that it was a long chapter. We wanted to get enough detail in to make sense, and since this is a bonus chapter, didn't want a part two. Oh, for those who are curious the Snowy Owlet griffinling name is Hail.
