"Oh Anais, glad I caught you!" Weston said urgently, walking in and closing the door behind him.

I looked up from the vegetables I was chopping, as he pulled himself up to sit on the counter next to my speaker. I felt angry at him, for ditching me for Kalynn. I said nothing.

"How was your date with Toby last night?" he asked, playfully.

"Great, yeah, I'm gonna go out with him again tomorrow." I lied.

"Nice, keep me updated on that, id like to meet him." He said. "A couple of us are going out to a bar in a bit, do you wanna join?"

"No." I said, looking down at the vegetables as I kept chopping.

"OK. If you change your mind, we're gonna go in a couple hours. Also, I wanted to talk to you about some stuff with the film.." he said, unphased as always about my blunt answer. "...Do you wanna go down to the park in a second with me?"

"Also no." I told him, putting the veg into the pan. "It's a saturday so, I don't wanna do any work for college."

"We could just go to the park anyway?" He said, his voice sounding hopeful.

I looked up at him. He looked so effortlessly handsome in his glasses, his face all lit up. He was smiling right at me. I ignored my urge to jump at the chance to hang out with him.
"Why would I wanna do that?" I asked, looking down again. "What's at the park to do?"

He shrugged, his smile fading.

"Why not just go hang out with Kalynn?" I asked him, getting back to my cooking.

"I asked her already, she's busy. Come on, bring your speakerrr, it's hot out today. I'm so bored." He said, getting off the counter and leaning on it next to me.

"I want to be by myself." I told him, without looking up.

He didn't reply, but just left.

I breathed out a sigh as he did, and before I could have a moment of quiet to wallow the door opened again and Olivia came in, followed by a blonde girl. After a moment I recognised her as the girl Olivia had gone to that party for.

"Anais! You remember Isabelle?" Olivia said, her voice a little more high pitched than usual. "From the party?"

Isabelle and I said hi to each-other, and a mutual understanding that she hadn't remembered too much of that night seemed to be apparent for both of us.

"So, what are you guys up to today?" I asked, pouring the pasta into the pan and stirring it in.

"Probably watching some movies in my room for a bit until later, we're all going out to a bar." Olivia told me, opening the fridge and grabbing some juice. "You gonna come?"

"Don't think so. Haven't felt so good recently." I told her.

"I noticed," She replied. "Please come, it'll be good for you to socialise some more. The last couple days you've been stuck in your room so much."

I shrugged, but it was true, I did need something to do. Getting out would help me right now.

"Can I join you guys?" I asked, suddenly.

Olivia grinned at me "Sure, come eat your food in my room, we're gonna watch mean girls." And she left with Isabelle.

I finished up my cooking and poured it into a bowl, going through to Olivia's room. They sat together in Olivia's bed, and I kept to sitting in the chair by the desk, so I wasn't intruding too much.
