Hangover

"I think I blacked out." I said, holding my head in my hands and sitting down on my bed. The warmth from the sunlight streaming in through my window and onto my lap gave me some sort of comfort to the nausea that swirled through my stomach.

"Yeah, I'd say so." Weston agreed, stretching and sitting up from his awful makeshift bed on my bedroom floor.

"...Did I do anything embarrassing?" I asked, hesitantly.

"Uhh, nothing too bad." He said, and I groaned, hiding my face behind my hands.
"Actually," He started, sitting next to me on my bed. "You did tell me that you have some.. family related... um.... issues."
"Oh my god." I said, a wave of anxiety crashing through me. I wanted to shrink up into nothing.

"I'm here to talk about it, if you want." He said, after a moment.
"No, definitely not." I said, quickly.

I breathed out a heavy sigh, closing my eyes. I felt his arms wrap around me, and he pulled me into his chest. I hugged him back awkwardly, staring at the wall. "Thanks, anyways." I added, pulling back. "I didn't do anything... weird did I?"

"Like what?"
"I didn't try to..." I said, my voice quiet. I hated that as I said this my voice was the only thing making sound in the room. "kiss you?"
"...Is that what goes through your head when you're drunk?" He teased, tiling his head to the side.
I avoided his gaze, and felt my face turning red. "No, well, like, i'd kiss anyone when i'm that drunk."

"Well, you didn't. You were funny." He said, then we sat side by side in silence for a moment.

He smiled at me, his head tilted to the side, and ruffled my hair. "You feeling hungover?"
"Like you wouldn't believe." I sighed.
"Well, we have class in 20 minutes. You coming?"
"Ugh, yeah, I probably should. Get out of my room so I can get ready, will you?" I asked, and he got up to leave.

I closed the door, feeling a wave of nausea as I opened my wardrobe. I picked out my favourite baggy jeans and a hoodie, pulling them both on. Winter was starting, and it was so cold, so I grabbed a crewneck sweater and pulled it on over the top. After brushing my teeth and putting some concealer on in an attempt to hide my eyebags, I grabbed my keys and opened my door, stepping out into the hallway. Weston and Sam were just leaving, and they called me to walk with them.

On the walk to class they were wrapped up in some conversation I didn't really care about, both of them clearly having a lot to catch up on after spending so much time not talking to each-other. I just put in my headphones and trailed along beside Sam for most of the walk.

Kalynn and Olivia were already sat down at a table, and we joined them. Finally, we were all hanging out again.

"Hey," Kalynn said to me, as the others all started talking to each-other. "You get home alright? You were pretty wasted."
"I blacked out..." I told her, and her eyes widened. "But yeah, I got home fine. Weston took me back early."
"Oh god, are you alright?" She asked. "I'm glad he was there. Sorry, I got so wrapped up talking to Olivia and Sam."
"Yeah, my head's just a little-"

Before I could fully answer our teacher came in, slamming some paperwork down on his desk. "Grades, today, grades. I hope you're all sufficiently nervous, because these projects were very important. Those groups who have failed may be able to retake the year, so the stakes are high, people!" He paced the room, slapping down small folders on people's desks as he did. "Some of you, did better than others..." He said, giving us a look of slight disdain as he dropped our folder on our table. Olivia grabbed and opened it, her eyes wide.
